In America and England, if you go to a birthday party, you'll have a good meal and a lot of drinks. After that, you will play different kinds of games.
The children between the age of 10-14 will have a “sleepover” party.
Usually this kind of party is on a Friday or a Saturday night when the children do not have lessons the next morning. For this kind of party, the birthday person invites 5-6 close friends over for dinner. After dinner, the children will eat cakes and icecream, and the birthday person will open his or her gifts.
During the evening, the children may go iceskating, go to watch basketball or soccer games or something else. Also, the children will eat pancakes at midnight and then go on talking and playing games, such as card games or computer games. Next morning the mother will make a big breakfast of some nice food such as cakes, bread with meat or eggs. Then their parents will pick up the children at about nine o'clock the next morning.

“They must still be in the caves!” said somebody.
A large group of men went to the caves to search for the two children. They searched all day. They searched for three days, but they did not find Tom or Becky. Where could they be?
At the picnic, Tom and Becky went into the caves with the other children. They took their candles and walked down a small tunnel. Then Tom saw a small opening he had never seen before. He decided to explore. Becky came with him. They made some marks on the wall. This would help them find their way back. They found a large cave with a spring in it. There were a lot of bats hanging on the roof. The bats did not like the candlelight and attacked the children. Tom and Becky ran. They did not watch where they were going. They escaped from the bats and found a lake. They sat down to rest.
“We haven’t heard the other children for a long time,” said Becky.
“We’d better go back,” suggested Tom.
They tried to find a way back without going through the cave with bats. They were soon lost. They didn’t know how to get back. They began to shout. Nobody answered.

Dreams take up about one quarter of our sleeping time. People have several dreams each night.
Dreams are like short films. They are usually in color. They come to us over and over again. That may be because the dreamer is worrying about something. Dreaming may be a way of trying to find an answer.
Some people get new ideas about their work from dreams. They could have been thinking about their work all day. These thoughts can carry over into dreams.
Sometimes we wake up with a good feeling from a dream. But often we can’t remember the dream. Dreams can disappear quickly from memory.

"Listen," says Miguel Lores, the mayor, opening the windows of his office. From the street below rises the sound of human voices. "More than 14, 000 cars used to pass along this street every day. There were more cars passing through the city in a day than people living here. "
Lores became mayor in 1999. He spent months walking around the city. "The historical city is dead, " he said one day. "It is full of cars. It is heavily polluted. There are a lot of traffic accidents. The elderly and children aren't able to use the streets because of cars. People who had a chance to leave have done so. "
At first, Lores thought of improving traffic conditions. However, he couldn't come up with a good plan. After lots of discussions, the government finally decided to get rid of cars.
The change has brought Pontevedra many benefits. Traffic accidents are now rare; CO2 emissions (排放物)are down 70 percent. Many people are moving to the city, making it lively again.
Most local citizens like the change. Ramiro Armesto, a mother of two young children, said, "In the past, the first thing to see in the morning was traffic jams. Now, the city is cleaner, quieter and safer. ", Raquel Garcia, another parent, said she had stayed in many cities around the world. However, she had never lived in a city as "easy to live in" as Pontevedra. "Even if it's raining, I walk everywhere. The feeling is wonderful, she added. "For me, Pontevedra is paradise (天堂). "

This spring, I started a wildflower garden in our yard,. I can look out of the kitchen window while doing the dishes and see the flowers.
Every day I drove past the flowers thinking “I’ll stop on my way home and dig them.” “See. I don’t want to get my good clothes dirty.” Whatever the reason, I never stopped to dig them.
One day on my way home from work. I was sad to see the pretty blue flowers were gone. I thought to myself. “You wanted too long. You should have done it when you first saw them blooming this spring.”
A week ago we were shocked and sad to learn that my oldest sister-in-law(夫或妻的姐妹) was badly ill. She is 20 years older than my husband and unfortunately, because of age and distance, we haven’t been as close as we all would have been.
I couldn’t help but see the connection between the pretty blue flowers and the relationship between my husband’s sister and us. I do believe that God has given us some time left to plant some wonderful memories that will bloom every year for us.
