This spring, I started a wildflower garden in our yard,. I can look out of the kitchen window while doing the dishes and see the flowers.
Every day I drove past the flowers thinking “I’ll stop on my way home and dig them.” “See. I don’t want to get my good clothes dirty.” Whatever the reason, I never stopped to dig them.
One day on my way home from work. I was sad to see the pretty blue flowers were gone. I thought to myself. “You wanted too long. You should have done it when you first saw them blooming this spring.”
A week ago we were shocked and sad to learn that my oldest sister-in-law(夫或妻的姐妹) was badly ill. She is 20 years older than my husband and unfortunately, because of age and distance, we haven’t been as close as we all would have been.
I couldn’t help but see the connection between the pretty blue flowers and the relationship between my husband’s sister and us. I do believe that God has given us some time left to plant some wonderful memories that will bloom every year for us.
And yes, if I see the blue flowers again. You can bet I’ll stop and transplant(移植) them to my wildflower garden.

One day, his grandpa said to him, “Mike, I know that you don’t have as many friends as you think. Many of them are not true to you. Mike thought maybe his grandpa was right. However, he wasn’t sure how he could test whether his schoolmates were real friends or not, so he asked his grandpa. The old man answered, “I have just exactly what you need. It’s in my room. Wait a minute.” The old man left, soon returning as if carrying something in his hand, but Mike could see nothing there. “Take it. It’s a very special chair. Because it’s invisible, it will be hard for you to sit on it. However, if you manage to sit on it, you can use the chair’s magic power to tell who your real friends are. Mike took the strange invisible chair to school. At break time he asked everyone to form a circle, and he put himself in the middle, with his chair. “Nobody moves. You’re about to see something amazing!” said Mike. Then he tried sitting on the chair. Having difficulty seeing it, he missed and fell to the ground. Everyone had a pretty good laugh. “Wait, wait,” said Mike, making another try. But again he missed the chair.
Mike didn’t give up. He kept trying to sit on the magic chair. Finally, he did it. This time he felt himself in mid-air. Then he experienced the magic that his grandpa had been talking about. Looking around, Mike saw George, Lucas and Diana holding him up, so he wouldn’t fall. But some schoolmates whom he had regarded as friends had done nothing but made fun of him. Mike was quite thankful to his grandpa, who helped him test who his true friends were.

It was one o'clock in the morning when I at last succeeded in creating life.
As I looked at the lifeless human being, I saw one eye slowly open. Then he began to breathe and move his arms. At first, I thought he would be a fine﹣looking man. He had yellow skin, black hair and very white teeth. Unluckily, his eyes were watery, and his lips were thin and colorless. I soon realized that there was nothing beautiful about him. I ran out of the room, disgusted (恶心) bythe creature I had created.
I tried to sleep, but for hours I could not. Then, when I did get to sleep, I had bad dreams. When I awoke the next morning, I did not want to return to my laboratory and the monster I had created. I went for a long walk until I came to an inn. There, to my pleasure and surprise, I found my friend, Henry Clerval. "Tell me about my family," I asked him. "And Elizabeth, How is she?"
"They are all well, Frankenstein," he said. "But you do not look well, my friend. Your eyes look as if you have not slept for many weeks."
I knew this was true. "I have been so busy," I explained, "that I have been working without rest."
Henry walked back with me to my department. I did not want him to, but I could not stop him. I was afraid that the creature I had left there might be alive and walking about. When we reached my apartment, I asked Henry to wait outside for a few minutes. I did not explain why. I slowly opened the door and entered the room. To my surprise, it was empty. The creature had gone. I was so overcome by the feeling that I fainted I was ill for many months.
During my illness, Henry was my only nurse. He heard me talking in my sleep about a monster. At first, he thought I was just having a bad dream, but then he realized that something very bad happened in my life. At last, I began to get better.

So, what is your opinion? Should we praise(表扬)the teacher for resigning and following her dreams?
Yes---All of us have dreams that can’t come true right now.
First, Too many people waste their lives by doing things they don’t love simply because it is what people expect them to do. They are not happy and they also affect(影响) people around them. The earlier they can break free, the more meaning they can make out of their lives.
Second, It is a waste of people’s talents and social resources(资源) if they don’t get to do the things they are most talented at. Some people don’t want to be white-collar workers all their lives. They should have the freedom to change their lives.
Third, As our country develops so fast, people have greater freedom to change their lives as long as they put in the time and effort. The teacher is a good example.
No---People can’t change their lives overnight.
First, “Seeing the world” is not good enough an excuse to leave one’s job and life. This kind of attitude could actually be a bad example for young people.
Second, Everyone has a place in society and life. People may not have achieved their wildest or most ambitious dreams, but where they end up is the result of their and society’s decisions. Unless they offer to make lots of efforts and sacrifices, people can’t change their lives
Third, The reason why the teacher gave up her job is too unclear. It is too irresponsible.

【推荐2】Happiness (幸福) is for everyone. You don’t need to care about (关心) those people who have beautiful houses with large gardens and swimming pools or those who have nice cars and a lot of money and so on . Why? Because those who have big houses may often feel lonely, and those who have cars may want to work on the country roads at their free time.
In fact, happiness is always around you if you put your heart into it. When you are in trouble at school, your friends will help you; when you study hard at your lessons, your parents are always taking good care of your life and your health; when you get success, your friends will say “Congratulations” to you; when you do something wrong, people around you will help you to correct it. And when you do something good to others, you notice them, and you can see that happiness is always around you.
Happiness is not the same as money. It is a feeling of your heart. When you are poor, you can also say you are happy, because you have something else that can’t be bought with money. When you meet with difficulties, you can say loudly you are very happy, because you have more chances to challenge yourself. So you cannot always say you are poor and you have bad luck. As the saying goes, “Life is like a revolving door. When it closes, it also opens.” If you take every chance to get, you can be a happy and lucky person.

【推荐3】If you are a kid who enjoys playing video games, you must have argued with your parents at least once about the impact (影响) of gaming. Your parents might say that video games are bad for you. They may worsen your eyes, lower your academic performance, and could lead to health problems. As a kid, you probably argue that video games allow you to socialize with your friends, improve your coordination (协调) and memory, and even give you a way to make money through streaming platforms. Could you both be right?
One study of game players showed that 35 percent of high school and college students have missed school or work because of games. Some other studies have shown that playing video games leads to poor concentration in school or at work. In my seventh-grade science fair study, elementary and high school kids playing games had lower test accuracy, slower reflexes (条件反射), less pain awareness (意识), and lower response times to threatening (造成威胁的) sounds during and after having played video games.
On the other hand, a study conducted by Cheryl Olson interviewed 1,000 public school students and found that video games can help kids develop problem-solving skills, make friends, show leadership, and spark creativity. They can also be highly educational, because some games involve problem-solving skills or teach things like history, geography, or culture.
So, I bet you’re wondering...should I play video games or not? Who is right?
I think kids and parents can both win this argument. How? Most of the negative impacts of video games happen when kids play for too long, so play moderately. Here’s how to do that.
First, talk with your parents and take breaks from your gaming to help around the house get some fresh air. Second, try to find video games that are both fun and educational. Third, if you wear a headset to play, take it off every few minutes or leave one ear free so you can hear your surroundings. Fourth, there are also many games that get you up out of your seat. Finally, find some games that you can play with your parents, and you just might surprise them with how enjoyable they are. They may end up having more fun than you do!
What do you think? Are the good things about video games enough to outweigh the bad?

While we were about to cross an overbridge, two pupils about 6 to 10 years old caught our attention. One of them said to me, “Good morning, Aunt! Thanks for your supporting the traffic rules. Please keep it up!” She gave me a red flower. Though there’s something uncomfortable, facing such a lovely girl and fresh flower, I didn’t think a lot.
In the supermarket, when I lined up waiting to pay the bill, two boys more than 17 years old came up to me and said, “Aunt, may I borrow your membership card?”...(A few seconds)
Stop! There’s something wrong. Oh my god! “Aunt”, the same word again! I was about to snarl(咆哮), but I held it. I smiled and asked them with my softest voice, “Why did you call me ‘Aunt’?” He didn’t answer.
In my deep heart, I had an impulse(冲动) to tell him aloud that I’m only 20 years old and I’m a golden-aged girl like a beautiful flower. I turned to my roommate and complained about it. She laughed loudly for a few minutes. “Look at yourself, your womanly curly hair (Ha ha), your womanly clothes. You’re nothing but an ‘Aunt’ !(Ha ha)”
I drooped(垂落) my head.

Childhood is a time when there are few responsibilities(责任) to make life difficult. If a child has good parents, he is fed, looked after and loved, whatever he may do. It is impossible that he will ever again in his life be given so much without having to do anything in return. What’s more, life is always giving new things to the child--- things that have lost their interest for older people because they are too well-known. But a child has his pains: he is not so free to do what he wishes to do; he is repeatedly being told not do something or being punished for what he has wrongly done.
When a young man starts to earn his own living, he can no longer expect others to pay for his food, his clothes, and his room, but has to work if he wants to live comfortably. If he spends most of his time playing about in the way he used to as a child, he will go hungry. And if he breaks the laws of society(社会) as he used to break the laws of his parents, he may go to prison. If, however, he worked hard, keeps out of trouble and has good health, he can have the greatest happiness of building up for himself his own position(地位) in society.
