Museums play a big role in our society. They are also     1     important classroom for primary and secondary school students. During holidays, groups of young museum guides     2     (see) everywhere in Changzhou Museum. Since 2011, Changzhou Museum     3     (carry) out more than 100 public training activities for volunteer guides.

In July, 2021, I was chosen     4     (be) a volunteer guide in Changzhou Museum.     5     it was my first time to serve there, I didn’t know what to do. Luckily, the teachers there gave many interesting training classes, including “Public Places and Manners”, “Red History and Red Culture” and so on. I was deeply touched by the stories of     6     (pioneer) like Qu Qiubai and Zhang Tailei. I was impressed that they had risked     7     (lose) their lives to create a new China.

In the following month,I guided hundreds of tourists and did my job     8     (success). This experience had a great influence     9     me. I know more about my hometown and the meaning of life. I feel     10     (pride) of being a volunteer guide to help more people learn about Changzhou.

5 . A famous writer was born in a small town. Although his family was very poor, his parents managed to send him to school. He worked hard until he left college with good grades.

He then put his heart into writing. But he made little money. He couldn’t afford his meals sometimes. Publishing （出版） his works was hard for him. An old woman heard of his experiences. She offered his money. Then he could live on and went on writing. Finally, his books came out. They sold well.

The success of his books brought him great wealth. So he made up his mind to help other young writers in the same way. He built up a fund (基金会). Many young writers received his help.

Kindness is passed on which makes the world a warm place.

6 . At the age of seven, I started school in London. There I met a ________, Mr. King. He influenced my whole life. Mr King taught me maths. He was humorous. Sometimes, he told us funny stories. So his lessons made us ________.

One day, Mr. King stopped me ________ I was on my way home. He took out a piece of paper with some maths exercises on it. ________ a smile, he asked. “Would you like to have a try my kid? ” I was a hit surprised and took ________ exercises home. I worked hard that night.

The next day when I gave part of the answers to him he ________ checked them and said “Well done! I believe your love for maths will help you with the rest.”

After Mr. King encouraged me, I ________ all my free time on the exercises. A week later. I succeeded! Mr. King gave more exercises to me, ________ me to make great progress. Every time ________ the problems, I have a lot of fun. Exercises became harder and I put effort (努力）into maths.

I enjoyed maths. It was Mr. King that opened the ________ to maths for me and led me in, thankful to Mr. King.

It was a lovely Spring morning here in the mountains of my home. The sky was blue, the sun was out, and the air was warm. As I drove along the roads I could see thousands of wild flowers in bloom. When I rounded a curve（转弯）I slowed. I saw some volunteers picking up rubbish along the side of the road. I smiled as I saw them doing some “Spring Cleaning” for Mother Earth. And my mind floated（飘荡）back in time to another Spring day long ago.

When my children were younger we used to walk around the lake near our home. One Spring day my daughter and I noticed just how much rubbish was lying along the path. The next day then we brought a big rubbish bag with us and started to slowly, step by step, pick up the rubbish along our way. There were plastic water bottles, wrappers（包装袋）for candy bars, empty chip bags, pieces of broken fishing line, and even an old thrown—away shoe. We stopped and picked up each one and even fished a few pieces of garbage out of the edge of the water. By the time we had circled the lake the bag was nearly full.

Tired but happy, we put the bag in an empty dustbin. We stopped before we headed home and took one last look at the lake as the sun set. It looked more beautiful than ever and I felt like the angels were looking down upon it with us and sharing our smiles.

I know that at times you wonder what you can do to make a difference. But the truth is EVERYTHING you do makes a difference! Every time you pick up a single piece of   rubbish you make a difference. Every kind word you say makes a difference. Every loving thought you think, every flower you plant, every animal you save, everything you do, no matter how small, makes a difference in this world. 8 . Do you have a library in your school or local area? Perhaps you even have a library bus that brings books. Well, children in Baluchistan, Pakistan (巴基斯坦), were getting books from a camel.

Many schools in this area were closed because of COVID-19, and the area did not have the Internet or books. The officials and teachers were worried about how to keep children learning during that time. After some thought, they realized that the answer could be a camel, so the Camel Library project started. Then the camel Roshan became a mobile “camel library”.

Roshan could cross deserts and get through streets. This would be difficult for cars. Three times a week Roshan set off with his owner and a teaching volunteer. Roshan sent books to four different villages. The books, from the Alif Laila Book Bus Society, were available for children aged between 4 and 16.The camel library was open for a few hours, and kids could take books home and return them when the library headed back. The camel loved what he did: brought books for children and then waited happily while they read. Local people were so thankful to Roshan for his kind work.

Now, the village schools have reopened, but local officials say the people still ask for the camel library. The project is expected to continue and cover more villages. Money is being collected and about $117.50 is needed for hiring (租用) Roshan.

Have you ever heard of Jiang Mengnan? She is ________ unusual girl. She received the award (奖) of the Person Touching China for 2021 ________ March 3rd. In 2018, she was accepted by Tsinghua University as a PhD (博士) student. It was a long journey for her to become a student of the famous university because most of her life was in a ________ world. Her story has moved thousands of people.

Jiang was born in 1992. Her parents named her Mengnan which means “dream and south”. Her parents wished that their ________ would enjoy a life of peace. However, when she was six months old, her peaceful and beautiful life ________. She lost her hearing because of taking the wrong medicine. As she ________, she began to learn lip-reading (唇读). She overcame lots of difficulties and practiced more than 1,000 times to learn to pronounce each word correctly.

Through her hard work, she ________ Jilin University with a high score of 615 marks in 2011. Jiang decided to study life science because she hoped she could spend all her life on people’s ________. During her college days, she was a ________ to help the disabled children in her hometown.
