Several records were broken in this year’s marathon. The marathon organizers provided excellent services to make sure all runners could have a perfect and unforgettable experience. Starting one month before the race, runners received more than 20 messages from the organizers. It was kind of weird.”

But after their second request was shared by local news website IndyStar.com, the donations have been pouring in from all over the country. Phone calls and donations have filled up the shelter, as have deliveries from warm-hearted folks, the IndyStar reported. UPS and FedEx dropped off 177 boxes of food and supplies on Friday morning alone, Hughes said. The entire lobby (大厅) was filled with donations on Thursday and half of the shelter’s garage was full. “It’s just so overwhelming (势不可挡的),” Hughes said. “We were all in awe (敬畏).
