Last Saturday, our school held an activity about helping others. Our teacher     1     us to do some voluntary work in our school. She also led us to the City Park and the     2     Hospital. It was my     3     time to be a volunteer. I was shy at first. I cleaned up the City Park and     4     up the rubbish in the park. At that time, I found people smiling at me.

That     5     me happy. In the Children’s Hospital, I told some stories and jokes to the sick kids to cheer them up. When I got home, I felt     6     tired but happy. I was glad that I could do something for them.

I think volunteering is a great job. It can not only help others but also     7     us happiness. Though it may be a small thing, it can make a great difference to the world. So we should try our     8     to help others. In my mind, helping others is helping     9    . I will continue to help others in my     10     life. Let’s take action and be helpful now.

Cheng Lijin is from Guangxi. In the past, she spent ______ summer and winter vacations teaching in some poor countries in Africa.

Cheng had the idea of being ______ volunteer teacher after she watched a movie called Desert Flower. She showed a great interest in Africa. She wanted to see what Africa looked like ______ her own eyes.

In December 2016, Cheng ______ Africa. She taught English, science and art at a primary school. Life was hard there. She couldn't even take a shower. ______ she didn’t leave. She knew she could help her students learn and bring hope to them.

In March 2017, Cheng visited an African orphanage (孤儿院) . She found the children there didn’t have enough school things. Then she decided ______ money to help them. Within three days, Cheng ______ got more than 20, 000 yuan. She used the money to buy school things for the children. She felt very happy when she saw the joy on the children’s ______.

Cheng’s story touched the hearts of ______ people. Now she is studying in the UK and plans to go back to her hometown and become a teacher there. She ______ truly a girl with a loving heart.

My name is Feng Guixiang. I want to tell you about the China Children and Teenager’s Fund (CCTF) and how it helped me.

One of the CCTF’s special activities is the Spring Bud Project. In 1989, 4.8 million children in the country, aged from seven to fourteen（A） couldn’t go to school. Eighty-three percent（B）_______ them were girls. Because of this, the CCTF launched (创办), the project has helped millions of girls return to school. It has also built a lot of schools.

The very first Spring Bud class was here in Guangxi in 1989. The Spring Bud Project paid for me to attend that class. It also rented a room（C）close to the school for me.

Before the project started, I stayed at home and helped my mother （D）_______ the housework. （E）上学改变了我的生活. I learnt to read and write and do many other things.

Now I work as a teacher at a Spring Bud school here in Guangxi. I（F）wish to help other girls the way the Spring Bud Project helped me.
