Yu Qiang is a policeman from Nanjing. Nearly every week, he ________ the parents of a late colleague (已故同事) , Hou Jianlin. And he has been doing so for nearly 16 ________.

Yu Qiang joined the army (军队) when he was 20 years old, and became Hou’s colleague as a police officer at the age of 32. In 2007, Hou passed away in a traffic ________.

After that, Yu visited Hou’s parents and ________ to look after them. “Hou was the ________ son of his parents, and he left his elderly parents behind. There were no ________ members in this family, so I asked ________ what I can do to help them? ” Yu said.

Hou’s mother said, “________ Yu is busy most days, he still finds the time to take care of my family. He is the person who gives us the ________ to pass the hard times. Every time he visits us, we are happy. And we ________ him as a family member. ” Yu’s family are very ________. His parents, wife and son often have dinners with Hou’s family too.

“I want to set a good example ________ my son about being kind to the people around him. We didn’t tell him what I was doing, but when he found it out, he was so ________.” Yu said.

“People feel that ________ they are in trouble, they can ask the police for help. So if they come to talk to us, we have to listen to them ________ and help them solve the problems.” he said.

Yu said that his promise of taking care of Hou’s parents is personal, but as a policeman, it is his duty to help the community solve the problems, even if some are beyond his duty.

Over the next four years, Arsh continued to sell his works for St. Jude’s, as well as a few other charities like Easterscals, Make-a-Wish and Compass to Care. So far, he     1     over ＄15, 000. Arsh was one of just 180 people aged 9 to 25 to get the Diana Award (戴安娜奖).

“I got the Diana Award because Princess Diana thought     2     people could change the world,” Arsh explained. “It felt good that they looked for me, and they chose me for the award.” As for what’s next, Arsh hopes     3     painting and helping others.

12-year-old Arsh Pal knows clearly what to do to the world around him. His kindness and talent have guided him from a young age. He wants to make art much     1     for everyone to reach, and stays true to his dreams of changing the world through art.

Arsh started painting when he was 8. Over time, he started giving the paintings away to friends and family, including those at the old     2     home where his mother works. While visiting the care center, Arsh noticed people looking bored and lonely, so he volunteered to give them painting     3    . When Arsh asked his mother if he could start selling his paintings to raise money for charity (慈善组织), she agreed to help him. They first     4     to raise $1,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. At that time, most people     5     him because he was so young, but when he did raise $1,000, everybody was surprised.

8 . Last summer, I went to China to volunteer in a panda base. It was an amazing _______! The panda base is in a beautiful forest and it’s very peaceful there. Every day, we had to wake up early because the pandas need to be fed. We prepared bamboo and carrots for them. Pandas eat a lot! After _______ them, we cleaned their houses. Pandas are very playful and they love climbing trees and playing with each other. Sometimes we got to _______ with them too!

In the afternoon, we helped with some research projects. We recorded data (资料) about the pandas’ behaviour and habits. We also helped with some conservation work _______ planting new trees in the forest. In the evenings, we had free time to explore the area and try some local food.

I loved _______ in the panda base. It was hard work, but it was worth it to see those cute pandas every day. I hope to go back there someday!
