1 . A video of a student from Yunnan Province receiving a famous university’s acceptance letter (录取通知书) has moved many people in China.
One day, China Post shared a video on the Internet. The video showed a worker sending the acceptance letter of Dalian University of Technology (DUT). The letter went to Yao Shengwang. When the worker arrived at Yao’s home, Yao came back from the fields with dirty hands. After washing his hands, he opened the letter and almost cried as he read it.
Yao comes from a poor family. After finishing the college entrance examination, he took part- time jobs to make money.
After seeing the hot video online, the teachers at DUT’s student services center contacted Yao right away to learn more about his family. News from the university said that the university would offer help to Yao.

3 . Greta Thunberg set sail for the United States on August 14th. The 16-year-old girl is traveling across the Atlantic Ocean on a sailboat. She is heading for New York City. She will attend a United Nations climate-change summit (联合国气候变化大会) there in September.
Greta lives in Sweden. She refuses to fly because airplanes produce pollution that harm the planet. Cruise ships (游艇) are also big polluters. In July, the team behind the Malizia II offered to bring Greta to the United States. The Malizia is a high-tech racing sailboat. It produces electricity using solar panels (太阳能板) and underwater turbines (涡轮). Greta hopes to create zero pollution on her journey across the Atlantic.
The 60-foot boat was designed for ocean races, not for comfort. It has no toilet or shower. Passengers will eat freeze-dried food. The trip is expected to last two weeks. “It’s not very comfortable,” Greta says. “It’s not very fancy, but I don’t need that. I need only a bed and just the basic things.”
Greta will be joined by her father and by a documentary filmmaker, who will record the trip. Two members of the boat’s team, Boris Herrmann and Pierre Casiraghi, will also onboard.

4 . When teenage diver (跳水运动员) Quan Hongchan rose from the 10 m platform (跳台) into the air, many people may think of the summer day several years ago.

5 . Nona Avery, a British woman was writing letters to her best friend in America. She has been doing for 77 years.
