文章大意:本文是一篇说明文。文章介绍了作为成年人也有很多地方可以向孩子学习,要享受当下,勇于表达自己。
1 . 根据短文内容,完成图表中所缺信息。

Children can teach adults a lot. In other words, there are many things adults can learn from children. Hope you can know how to do it from the following words.

Kids tend to show love. Every action they do for parents, friends, pets, and people they like, is full of love. They don’t think twice before loving, and they just love. So adults can learn this: the best way to receive love is to first give it. To give means to receive.

Kids never hide feelings. They cry when they hurt themselves, and express displeasure when things don’t go their way. However, we adults always avoid showing our feelings, and never express ourselves sincerely. In fact, it’s not strange to cry or express yourself. Because everybody is supposed to let out the feeling freely, not only the children. Never hold back tears or happiness. If you want to cry, just cry your eyes out. And if you are happy or pleased about something, don’t be afraid to show or share it.

Kids are curious (好奇的) about everything. They always ask lots of questions every day. This curious nature guides their life, and often leads them to simple but wonderful discoveries. Are adults as curious as kids? Well, most of us aren’t. Also, they don’t even ask questions if they don’t understand something.

Kids live in the present, and give 100% to any task they are doing. They never worry about the future. Since they are so busy enjoying their present, life is great today. However, with a job, money, and relationships, it does get hard for an adult to enjoy life. The best thing to do here is to change oneself, and if that isn’t possible, we can live like a child. Just don’t be worried about the future, because it isn’t in your control.

Some     1     on how to learn from kids

• Show love

• Kids do everything filled with love for parents, friends, pets and people they like.
• Adults should learn to give love     2     just receiving it.

• Don’t hide feelings

• Kids aren’t afraid to show their feelings while adults always refuse to express themselves sincerely.
• It’s     3     to express ourselves whether you are happy or sad.

• Be     4     in things around you

• Kids curiously ask many questions every day.
• Most adults don’t ask questions anymore even if they feel confused about something.

• Live in the present

• Kids live in the present happily while adults have difficulties in enjoying life with many things to consider.
• Change yourself or enjoy your present without worrying about the future that can’t be     5     by you.

文章大意:本文是一篇说明文,介绍北京2022年冬奥会实现了绿色奥运的承诺,以及中国自主研发出了二氧化碳直接冷却技术。

3 . The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics was a great success. China has kept the promise to hold a green Olympics. Many green actions made it possible, like providing environmentally friendly smart beds, using new energy(能源) cars, supporting sporting places with 100% clean energy and reusing rain and snow water.

Take making ice as an example. China didn’t use R507, a common material to make ice, because it isn’t friendly enough to the environment. Through 18 months’ hard work, China independently developed the CO₂ direct cooling technology.

A net of tubes runs under the ice. High-pressure liquid(液态) CO₂ goes through them to create heat(热) exchange. The CO₂ evaporates(蒸发) under the ice surface. The evaporation takes in heat and turns water on the surface into ice. And the CO₂ goes into another circle. This technology helps to make ice better and faster. And above all, it is much greener because there’s no new CO₂ produced. Among all the 15 ice sporting places in the Winter Olympics, 7 used the CO₂ direct cooling technology to make ice. As a result, much less pollution was caused.

Beijing did so much more to save energy. Beijing built the new sporting places with green materials. As for the old ones, Beijing used new glass walls to take the place of traditional walls to let more natural light in. 70% of the waste heat was also reused to keep warm and dry. And a large number of new energy cars were used at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics is the first to truly achieve carbon neutrality(碳中和), and it has set new standards in green technologies. Some newspapers say China has set an example for the world in environmental protection and green development.

1. How long did it take China to develop the CO₂ direct cooling technology?
A.18 months.B.100 weeks.C.15 days.D.7 years.
2. The writer writes Para. 3 to show ________.
A.why the CO₂ goes into another circle
B.how the new ice-making technology helped
C.how sporting places used the new technology
D.why the liquid CO₂ runs through the net of tubes
3. According to the passage, we can infer(推断) that ________.
A.all the buildings will be built with glass walls in the near future
B.the CO₂ direct cooling technology may be widely used in the world
C.the high-pressure liquid CO₂ will totally take the place of R507 soon
D.no new standards in green technologies may be set after the Olympics
4. Which of the following can be the best title for the passage?
A.A New Green Ice-making Technology
B.Green Technologies Used in Sports
C.A Shared Future of Green Development
D.The Green Beijing Winter Olympics

Wildfires are unexpected, unplanned. And the cause of most wildfires is unsure. To burn, wildfires require the right conditions — fuel (燃料), oxygen and heat. And global (全球的) warming is one of the most important reasons. The high temperatures and dry conditions make the fire spread quickly.

In many parts of the world, wildfires happen naturally. They are started by lighting (闪电) or some other special weather conditions. In recent years, there have been more wildfires because of dry, hot weather, and changeable weather because of global warming.

However, many fires are started by people. Sometimes, people clear land for farming. Besides, there are smokers who set fires by accident.

Wildfires can cause a lot of smoke, which will pollute the air. Lots of lives, property (财产) and valuable forests will soon disappear in wildfires. When trees are burnt down, and heavy rain follows, more disasters (灾难) such as terrible floods will happen.

9 . 根据短文内容完成短文后的思维导图。

When you visit a foreign country, it is important to know how to ask for help politely. For example, you may ask “Where are the restrooms?” or “Could you please tell me where the restrooms are?” These are similar requests for directions. Both are correct, but the first one sounds less polite. That is because it is a very direct question. It is not enough to just ask a question correctly. We also need to learn how to be polite when we ask for help.

Good speakers change the way they speak in different situations. The expressions they use might depend on whom they are speaking to or how well they know each other. It is all right to ask your classmates direct questions because you know them well. However, if you say to your teacher, “When is the school trip?” this might sound impolite. But if you say, “Excuse me, Mr.West. Do you know when the school trip is?”, this will sound much more polite.

Usually polite questions are longer. They include expressions such as “Could you please...?” or “May I ask...?” It sounds more polite to say, “Peter, could you please tell me your address?” than “Peter, tell me your e-mail address.” Sometimes we even need to spend time leading into a request. For example, we might first say to a stranger, “Excuse me, I wonder if you can help me” or “I’m sorry to trouble you, but...” before asking for help.

It might seem more difficult to speak politely than directly. However, it is important to learn how to use the right language in different situations. This will help you communicate better with other people.

文章大意:本文介绍了英国一些人住在水上游艇的生活方式,并介绍了在游艇上生活的好处与弊端。

10 . Living on water

There are at least 3,000 miles (about 4,828 km) of waterways in Britain. On these canals(运河) and rivers, there are over 30,000 “houseboats” — boats that people use as homes. Around 10,000 of them are located in London.

Houseboat communities are typically(典型地) made up of people who are looking for a slower way of life and who want to be in touch with nature.

Living on water sounds romantic(浪漫的), but it is hard work.

There are daily things that need to be done, like bringing fuel and water on board and dealing with “waste” water from the kitchen sink(洗碗槽), shower and toilet. In winter, living on a boat can be very cold and there is always a feeling of being wet. Of course, most boats are quite small inside, so you don’t have much space, especially if you are a couple, family or group of friends.

Despite(尽管) these difficulties, the number of people living on Britain’s waterways has increased by around 50 percent over the past ten years. This is not only because they like the idea of life on water but also because it is much cheaper to buy or rent a boat than a flat or a house.

There is a great sense of community on the waterways. Houseboat neighbors often become friends for life. This is quite a different story from people who live in flats or houses and may hardly know the people next door at all.

1. What can we know about houseboats in Britain?
A.There are about 10,000 houseboats in total.
B.They are boats that are used as homes.

D.They are designed for travelling on water.
2. Some people live in houseboats because they __________.

A.The best season to liveB.The difficulties of living on a boat.
C.The costs of living on water.D.Tips for living on a houseboat.
4. More people are choosing to live on the waterways because _________.
a.it costs less than living in a house or a flat
b. the government calls on people to do so
c. they are scared of living in cities
d. it provides a better sense of community
