Thousands of years ago Britain was covered by thick forests, home to many animals which no longer live in the United Kingdom. There were wolves and bears, many different kinds of deer and large wild cows. People who lived in villages were well protected by wooden walls from the animals outside.

Elephants World in Thailand is a place for more than 30 old or sick elephants. When Paul Barton from England first heard about it, he wanted to do more than just visit the animals.
22 years ago, Mr. Barton went to Thailand to teach piano at a school for three months. There he met his future wife, Khwan, an artist and animal lover. He decided to live with her in Thailand. Then he knew Elephants World.
“I wondered if these poor elephants might like to listen to some piano music, so I asked if I could bring my piano along and play to the elephants,” Mr. Barton says. “They agreed.”
Romsai is an elephant in Elephants World. Few people would like to get close to him because of his bad temper (脾气). “He is quiet when I play music to him.
