1 . Once upon a time, there was a farmer. He went to the town to sell fish every day. One day, he left home with a basket of fish very early. When he arrived, the town gate was still closed. So he lay down to take a rest. When he woke up, he saw nothing but some money in the basket. He was surprised but happy. So he went home quickly with the money.
The next day, the same thing happened again. When he went home, the farmer told his father what had happened. His father decided to follow his son to see who had left the money.
One day, the father quietly followed his son to the town. There he saw a snake eat the fish, and then some money came out of the snake’s mouth as payment. The farmer’s father quickly picked up a stone and cut the tail off its body.
The snake quickly ran into a hole with only its head and body. The father thought the snake had died and told his son to go inside to get more money. But when the farmer put his hand into the hole, the snake bit and killed him.
