There is an old tree on a dry land. The tree has so many branches(树枝)that it brings shadow (树荫) to hundreds of travelers.
One day, two travelers got to the tree. They walked for a long time in the hot sun. They were too hot and tried to find a place to rest. Luckily, they found the big tree.
They made a decision to take a rest under the tree. They slept there for a while. When they woke up, they felt hungry and one traveler climbed up the tree. But he was sad to see nothing.
He started to say bad words to the tree. "Oh, this is just a useless tree without any fruit on it!" The other traveler said nothing about the tree but asked his friend to be quiet. However, the traveler in the tree still shouted at the tree.
The tree couldn't stand the traveler at last. He said in a sad yet strong voice," You can't be so ungrateful(忘恩负义的)to me, Just look back to the moment when you got here in the hot sun! I gave you a cool and comfortable place to rest. You would die now without me!"
Many people do much for us, but we sometimes forget to give thanks but only complain(抱怨)! Make sure not to say any bad words to the one who has helped you.

2 . Tea, the most typical English drink, became established in Britain because of the influence of a foreign princess, Catherine of Braganza, the queen of Charles Il. A lover of tea since herchildhood in Portugal, she brought tea-drinking to the English royal court and set a trend for the beverage in the seventeenth century. The fashion soon spread beyond the circle of the nobility to the middle classes, and tea became a popular drink at the London coffee houses where people met to do business and discuss events of the day. Many employers served a cup of tea to their workers in the middle of the morning, thus inventing a lasting British institution, the"tea break.” However, drinking tea in social settings outside the workplace was beyond the means of the majority of British people. It came with a high price tag and tea was taxed as well.
Around 1800, the seventh Duchess of Bedford, Anne Maria, began the popular practice of "afternoon tea, "a ceremony taking place at about four o'clock. Until then, people did not usuallyeat or drink anything between lunch and dinner. At approximately the same time, the Earl of Sandwich popularized a new way of eating bread--in thin slices, with something(e.g, Jam or cucumbers) between them. Before long, a small- meal at the end of the afternoon, involving tea and sandwiches, had become part of the British way of life.
As tea became much cheaper during the nineteenth century, its popularity spread right through all comers of the British society. Thus, tea became Britain s favorite drink. In working-class households, if was served with the main meal of the day, eaten when workers returned home after a day’s labor. This meal has become known as"high tea.”
Today, tea can be drunk at any time of the day and accounts for over two-fifths of all beverages consumed in Britain-with the exception of water.

5 . Isn’t spring a beautiful season? Flowers of all colors and shapes can be seen everywhere. They make our world look and smell better. So, it is no surprise that people love flowers! Well…except for one—dandelions(蒲公英)!
In order to have a tidy garden, we try our best to kill all dandelions or dig them out—only to see these unwanted plants grow right back. But that’s not bad because we have good reasons to leave them alone.
In fact, a 2014 study lists dandelions as one of the top 41 healthiest foods. Dandelions are full of vitamins (维生素)K, A,E and C. They have long been used as medicine.
Another great thing about dandelions is that you can eat every part of them, either cooked or
uncooked. You can also put flowers or roots (根) in hot water to make dandelion tea. Great! Nothing goes to waste!
Besides, dandelions are fun for kids! Pick the white top, close your eyes, make a wish and blow! If you blow all of it off in one breath, your wish will come true! This game is played all over the world.
Still unwanted plants? Of course not! Dandelions are good for human health as well as our kitchen. They also provide kids with free toys! So next time when you are blowing them, blow harder —you’re helping this great plant grow in the wild, even if your own wish does not come true!

What is good for your mental health?
Doing something for a change is a good way. It could be a fiveminute
rest from cleaning your house, a halfhour lunch break at work or a weekend finding somewhere new.
Taking a break may mean being very active. It may mean not doing very much at all. Take a deep breath... and relax. Try yoga or a deep thought, or just putting your feet up. A few minutes can be enough to make you feel good.
Listening to your body is also helpful. If you're really tired, give yourself time to sleep. Sometimes the world can wait.

Put a smoke alarm in the house. Smoke from a fire causes the alarm to go off. The alarm makes a loud sound. The sound tells everyone to leave the house at once.
Make escape plans. We should know all the ways out of the house. If there is a fire, everyone follows the plan to get out. Part of the plan is to check all the windows to make sure they can be opened easily.
Buy fire extinguishers(灭火器)in the house. Everyone in the family should know how to use them. Practice for a fire. We do fire practice because we teach children about fire safety. Everyone in the family should know the following fire rules:
★Don't open a hot door! The fire can grow more quickly if you open the door.
★Stay close to the floor! Smoke can be more dangerous than fire. The best air is near the floor because smoke rises.
★What will you do if your hair or clothes star to burn? First. stop! Don't run! The fire burns faster because of more air. Drop! Fall to the floor. Then roll! Turning over and over will make the fire go out. Put a blanket around you to keep air away from the fire that may still be on you.
