3 . I am Jack. I walked into the house on Saturday afternoon. I was very sad because my bike was broken and I wanted to use it that evening. While I opened the door, I called out, “Could somebody help me repair my bike?” There was no answer. So I walked around to see if anybody was at home. “Is anybody at home?” I called.
I found my Dad in the workshop. “Did you find Somebody?” he asked. “Or did Nobody help you? Do you know the story, by the way?”
I shook my head, so he said while he went on working, “I’ll tell you a story. I’m surprised you haven’t heard it before.”
“This is a story about four people: Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody...”
“Say it again,” I asked, and my Dad repeated it.
“Ah, I get the idea.”
“What’s the problem?”
“My bike is broken.”
“So I hear. Who do you want to help you, Anybody, Everybody, Somebody or me?”
“As you’re here, Dad, could you help me?”
“Sure, bring it in and we’ll have a look at it together.”
That’s what I love about my Dad. He never gets angry and he’s always telling stories. That was the last time I asked for somebody to help me. Now I ask my friends directly for help and they ask me.

My name is Jenny. There are four people in my family—my parents, my brother and I. My family members have a good relationship because my family has some rules.
Family dinner
My mother makes it a rule that everyone should sit down at the table and have dinner together. I think this is one of the easiest and most important rules to have as a family. Eating meals together could have a sense of being back home. What’s more, keeping the habit will add to everyone’s enjoyment.
Night-time routine (常规)
Although it is hard for us to keep this routine at first, it has turned out to be a good habit. After dinner we usually have a playtime. And 7:00 p.m. is bath time. 7:30 p.m. is time to have some milk. At 7:50 p.m. my mother reads a story, and then lights go out at 8:00 p.m. This routine makes me wake up early in the morning and helps me be in a good mood at school.
Cleaning up
Cleaning up is a family matter. After dinner, my brother and I help our parents to clean up the kitchen and clear everything off the table. After this, we are asked to clean up the toys that we were playing with in the daytime. Then we won’t step on hard or wooden toys when we get up the next morning.

9 . Sometimes, families can be hard. Arguments happen. People get upset. Sometimes they stop talking. Our family also has lots of ups and downs. I’d say we’re probably one of the more argumentative families out there.
I have an older brother and an older sister. I’m the younger brother of the family. We grew up in quite a small house and often didn’t have a lot of money. My mum and dad argued all the time, over just about anything. My brother and sister argued. And I used to argue, too. But as I got older, I always chose to be the mediator, the person who tries to look at both sides of the argument and tries to make everything peace. “Dad, you shouldn’t have said that to Mum, but Mum, try to see it this way.” “Come on guys, we all love each other. It’s just been a bad day,” I’d say to try and calm things down.
I learned much while growing up in an argumentative family. Patience, understanding, and the knowledge that sometimes things just don’t go your way.
We all make mistakes. We all say things we wish we hadn’t. The key is to try and understand. Put yourself in the other person’s shoes and stay calm. Of course, sometimes, arguments do need to happen. If something is wrong, it needs to be solved and sometimes, we get angry about it. But as long as we can reflect (反思) and look at things with an attitude of care and responsibility, we can solve the problems successfully and help each other out.

My new school is great but it’s far away. I get up at 6: 00. We start school at 9: 00 a. m. and go home at 4: 00 p. m. There is one hour for lunch. I don’t like the food—it’s terrible !
It’s winter now and England isn’t very cold in winter. My friends come to my home in the evening or I go to their houses. At the week, sometimes we go to the swimming pool. On Sunday I visit my uncle and aunt.
Life is different in summer! We have six weeks in July and August with no school.
Can I come to your country for my holiday. Can you come to England?
Please write back.
