Have you ever seen a car without a driver? It sounds crazy, but these computer-driven driverless cars will soon be filling roads near you. Companies like Google and Tesla have been designing and     1     these cars, and the technology is there.

So how do they work? The cars have sensors (传感器) all around which can find other cars and     2     on the road. Sensors on the wheels also help when     3    , so the car knows how far it is from the stone or other parked cars. Road signs are read by cameras, and GPS is used so the car knows where you want to go. All you have to do is type in the address!     4    , a central computer system takes in all the information it receives from the sensors and cameras and work out when to speed up, turn and stop.

Sound     5     your idea of heaven? Sitting back, looking out of the windows and even watching a film or reading a book while “driving” would be     6     with this new technology. You wouldn’t have to worry about remembering directions where you’re going. In addition, computers are generally better     7     than humans. They would also drive     8     than people — they don’t listen to music or talk with friends, they would follow the speed limit and they have quicker reaction times if something bad happens.

However, there are many downsides of driverless cars. Computers would have difficulty     9     ethical(道德的) decisions; if a child ran into the road, would the computer choose to hit the child or turn suddenly and kill the car’s passengers? There would also be many legal decisions to be made — should children, or drunk people, be allowed in a driverless car by     10    ? Or would there need to be a responsible(有责任的) adult with a driver’s licence in the car at all times?

Free energy is everywhere around us, There are many ways to make and collect energy from     1     sources（来源）like the sun, wind, water, etc. But people always make things difficult by not using these sources of energy. In the last few years there have been a great number of new ideas for generating（产生）energy. People suddenly realized that everyday things can be a source of energy. For example, riding a bike, running or just    2    , etc. But, is there anything else that can be used for collecting energy? We     3     have to change our way of thinking if we want to change the world.

So comes the idea of solar（太阳能）roadways. Are they the road of future? Why don't we use them for collecting energy?
