2 . There is no doubt that technology has had a big influence on our lives. People from all around the world can now talk to each other almost at once on mobile phones and the Internet. People can easily solve their problems with the help of computers and the World Wide Web. With the technology, it seems that the world is more connected now than ever before. Even so, there have been worries about technology making people feel lonely and disconnected from others around them.
So does this mean that technology makes us lonely?
In my opinion, it is hard to say “Yes” or “No”.
It’s true that humans need communication with each other. If we depend on technology too much to communicate, this can badly impact our mental (心理的) health. For me, technology is a tool. And just like any other kind of tool—like scissors, a pencil or a ruler. For example, it depends on how we use it: in a right way or in a right place. Take social media (社交媒体) as an example. If you only use it to compare yourself with others, you might feel sad and lonely. But if you use it as a tool to connect with friends and family or to start a new community to talk about your hobbies and interests, the loneliness will turn into love and friendship.
When you feel lonely after staring at your computer screen all day, maybe you can use that technology to reach out to a reliable (可靠的) friend and invite him or her out for lunch or a coffee.

5 . If you watch the sky for about an hour after the sun goes down, you may see some “moving stars”. But they are not really stars. They are man-made satellites. And the biggest of all is the International Space Station (ISS). From May to July is the best season to watch the ISS flying over the earth. And people can see it with their eyes during the time.
The scientists want to live on the ISS. They think that the best way to learn more about space is to live there.
When the space station is finished, it will be like a city in space. People will stay and study there with many of the things they have at home. Laboratories, living rooms and power stations are being built. The ISS is the most expensive program. Billions of dollars are spent on it every year.
Scientists hope that the ISS will be a stepping-stone for future exploration. “The ISS will be more useful some day. The ISS will help us understand the human body better, explore space and study the earth. It can help us make life on the earth better.” said Kathryn Clark, an ISS scientist.
Sixteen countries are part of the space program: the US, Russia, Canada, Japan, Brazil, and 11 European countries. China isn’t an ISS country, but it has helped with some of the experiments. In 2003, China sent some rice up to the ISS to find out what space would do to it.

China’s first artificial intelligence (AI, 人工智能) theme park opened to the public in November, 2018, after 10 months’ renovation(整修) of Haidian Park in Beijing. It is free to the public, allowing anyone to check out the park’s AI devices(设备), Xinhua reported.
Haidian Park covers about 34 hectares near the 4th Ring Road. It received about 1.2 million tourists in 2017. The district government of Haidian and the Internet company Baidu signed an agreement in January to jointly explore the “smart city” building. Haidian Park was chosen to run the pilot programme.
Visitors can travel around the park on driverless buses. There is also a running road that has cameras at its starting point, midway point, and finishing point that can record health data when you run on it. The data include travel distance, time, heartbeat and pulse(脉搏). You can collect this data by following the park’s official WeChat account.
You can learn t’ai chi by practising in front of a screen in the park. Cameras record your movements and compare them with the teacher’s to help you improve.
