3 . I’m Mary. I like t    1     to China. Shanghai is my favourite, because it is one of the largest c    2     in China. There are some tall m    3     buildings. I also like the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. At night, it l    4     up the sky in every direction. In addition, I like to visit Yichang by ship. People can enjoy the night b    5     there. I like these places very much. And the Chinese people are very kind and friendly, too.

6 . I’m in London with my friend Karen. We are staying here for four days. Yesterday was sunny and warm,     1     today it’s windy and a little cold. I’m drinking tea in our hotel room and Karen is out shopping. We’re having a great time in London. There are many interesting places of       2     here. My favorite places are the British Museum and Hyde Park. There are many beautiful old buildings here. We really enjoy     3    .

I’m looking out of my window at the street. It’s raining     4     outside. There are a lot of cars and buses going slowly. The people are walking fast or running. Everyone is holding     5     umbrella. I hope the rain will stop soon. I can’t wait to visit many places in London.

How are you? It has been a month since my family left Hong Kong for England and we are fine.

England is very different     1     Hong Kong. The weather is terrible and it     2     (rain) a lot. The buildings are funny. They are in rows and not high. I love them because the rooms are much     3     (large). I’m having     4     wonderful time at my new school and my new home!

Mum and Dad are happy with their new     5     (job). But my brother Jack doesn’t like moving to England     6     he misses his friends so much.

I’ve made lots of new friends at school. My teachers are really nice too and my English has improved a lot. After school, we can take part in     7     (relax) activities such as     8     (watch) films or playing computer games. There’s a park near the school where I often go with the other students at the weekend. There are many famous places of interest in England and we visited the most famous tourist attraction London Bridge last Sunday. London Bridge     9     (build) many years ago. We will travel back to Hong Kong for the summer holiday. I will visit you and bring you a present next year!

I took a trip to Shanghai with my mother during the seven-day holiday. It     1     us more than two hours to drive to Shanghai from my home in Haimen. Shanghai is a busy and large city. Its population is over 24     2    . That’s larger     3     the population of many other cities in China.

On the first day, I just     4     in the hotel and rested. On the     5     day my mother and I went to Nanjing Road. It is the busiest street in Shanghai. When we got there, there were lots of people. We walked from one shop to     6    . I bought two T- shirts and two     7     of trousers for the coming summer. The T-shirts and trousers I bought are all white because white is my     8     colour. My mother also bought some clothes. On the third day, my mother took me to Shanghai Disney Resort. It was full of people. I took many photos there. I had a good     9    .

For the other days, I went to some other interesting places, such as the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Huangpu River and the Shanghai International Convention Centre. I didn’t forget to     10     my homework in the evening. I had a full and happy holiday.
