It is 9 o’clock at night. Laura is brushing her teeth in the bathroom. The tap (水龙头) is on and the water is always running. Her parents are watching TV in the living room.

“Turn off that tap,” says an angry voice. “You’re wasting (浪费) water.” Laura looks around, but there is no one there.

“Who are you?”

“I’m a drop (滴) of water. Do you know where I come from?”

“From the tap?” asks Laura. “A few days ago, I was in a cloud and fell from clouds as rain”, says the drop of water. “I fell into a river and then ran into a reservoir (水库). It was time for the people to clean me.”

“No. People will make me clean the second time. I’ll run into the sea.”

Laura turns off the tap right away and comes out of the bathroom.
