1 . The China-Laos Railway (中老铁路) opened to international passengers on April 13th. It has opened up new doors to people from both countries.
The D887 train, left from Kunming, Yunnan Province, at 8:08 a. m. and arrived at Vientiane (万象), capital of Laos, at 6:38 p. m. An hour later, D888 train left Vientiane to reach Kunming in the morning. The 1035-kilometer railway is a landmark project of Belt and Road Initiative (“一带一路”倡议).
Liu Jin, 32, has traveled to Laos eight times in the past, but for the ninth time he took the train. “Natural views are great there. I love the blue sky and simple life, as well as the friendly people,” he said. This time, Liu took his 60-year-old mother with him to Laos by train. Lamphone Thipmala, from Laos, also took the train. “It’s a pleasant journey. I will take the train again. China’s trains are so fast and comfortable, and I hope I can learn more to teach students in my country and we can have better railway and trains in the future,” she said. Dr. Su Yisheng said, “The opening of the China-Laos Railway makes travel between Kunming and Vientiane very convenient (方便的). It’s a win-win project (项目) for China and Laos and is good for people from both sides.”

5 . Once upon a time, there lived a man named Hans. He didn’t work hard but dreamed that he could become rich.
One day, Hans saved an old man on his way home. The old man had magic. He thanked Hans for helping him and promised to give Hans a boon (恩惠). Hans told the old man that he wanted to become rich without having to work hard.
