1 . Artificial intelligence (AI) plays an important role in the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 and Asian Para Games. These terms might sound familiar, but how smart are they when applied to the 56 Asian Games venues (场地)?

Their smartness can be found in running the venues with less human labor forces. At the Huanglong Sports Center, a system called Smart Stadium Brain is built. A 25 square meter high definition screen lays in the venue’s information center, which guarantees a friendly environment for the athletes and audiences. A small screen on each seat is designed to be at the audience’s service. By finger touching, the audience can control it conveniently to watch and keep contact with the event. What’s more, supported by the 5G technology.

AI also means further protection on environment. At the Fuyang sports Center, although it has been raining for days, the roof of the venue still remains dry. And the secret lies in its attractive sky garden. The garden, is not only eye-catching but also useful. It allows the greening rate of the entire stadium to reach as high as 45%, being energy-saving. Under the cobblestones (鹅卵石), a recovery system is filtering (过滤) and collecting rainwater for the venue’s water system, and irrigation water.

文章大意:本文是一篇新闻报道。主要介绍了巴黎2024年奥运会和残奥会火炬的设计和意义。

3 . The design of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic torch (火炬) was shown on July 25, marking almost a year until the opening ceremony (典礼) of the Paris Olympic Games.

The torch, measuring 70 centimeters and weighing 3.3 pounds, is made with lightweight radiant steel and is known for its champagne color, a color of French white wine.

Mathieu Lehanneur, the designer of the torch said that he drew inspiration from three Paris 2024 symbols-equality, water and   peacefulness. Equality is shown by perfect balance. Peacefulness is shown by the gentleness of the curves. The lower half features a relief pattern that copies the movement of the River Seine, along which the opening ceremony will be held.

It will be the first torch in the history of the Games to be used for both the Olympics and Paralympics. Past designs have shared similarities but are different in shape and color. This is part of the organizing committee’s plan to “build bridges between the Olympic and Paralympic Games”, Paris 2024’s president Tony Estanguet said in a statement.

Equality means putting the same ambition into organising the Paralympic Games as the Olympic Games. Following on from the medals to the mascots, the Olympic and Paralympic Games will share the same torch design.

Equality in the Paris 2024 project is also reflected in the strong promise to equality in the Olympic Games: For the first time in the history of the Games, as many women as men will take part in the competitions. Reflecting this desire for peace, the torch, with its curves and rounded lines, is filled with   gentleness. The design of the torch delivers generosity and unity.

“Such a project is a dream for a designer, because it’s a project that connects something symbolic and technical in one, for a big moment,” Lehanneur said.

1. What is paragraph 3 mainly about?
A.The shape of the torch.
B.The inspiration of the torch.
C.The ceremony of the Games.
D.The location of the opening ceremony.
2. What is special about the torch?
A.It is very heavy.
B.It is perfect in shape.
C.It copies the movement of the River Seine
D.It will be used in the Olympics and Paralympics
3. What can we infer from what Lehanneur said in the last paragraph?
A.He had a passion for sports.
B.He wanted to be a well-known designer.
C.He felt a sense of achievement and pride.
D.He wished to connect everything together.
4. What can be the best title for the text?
A.A designer realized his dreamB.Inspiration of the 2024 Games
C.Paris 2024 showed torch designD.Equality, water and peacefulness

I had a interesting dream last night. I dreamed that I took part in a race. At first, I could not run very fast and fall behind. So I didn’t lose heart and kept running. All the students on the playground cheer me on, “Come on!” I was so encouraged that I ran faster and fast till I caught up all the other runners. I felt as if flying like a superman. In the end, I got to the finishing line at first. I won the race. I felt very proudly of myself. Many of my classmate threw me up into the air. Just at that time I woke up and found me still in bed!

文章大意:本文是说明文。本文讲述了一项关于早晚锻炼对女性和男性不同的受益,研究表明对于男性和女性根据需求不同最佳锻炼时间不同。

10 . A small study out of Skidmore College examined the advantages of morning vs, evening exercise for both women and men. Paul, professor for health at Skidmore, led the study.

“We had the groups divided into evening and morning groups,” he says. “We found women and men answered differently to different types of exercise depending on the time of the day, which surprised us.”

The study showed that for women who want to lower blood pressure (血压), the risk of heart disease or reduce fat, morning exercise works best. Those women hoping for upper body muscle (肌肉) gains or mood (心情) improvement should consider evening exercise. For the men, the findings were somewhat different: Evening exercise lowers blood pressure, the risk of heart disease, and feelings of tiredness. But similar to women, they burn more fat with morning exercise.

“For many people, the best time to exercise will depend on their chronotype,” says Heisz, author of Move the Body, Heal the Mind.

“Chronotype is your body’s natural habit to sleep at a certain time—it’s what decides whether you’re a night owl or an early bird. For the 25% of the population that considers themselves a night owl, getting both enough sleep and enough exercise can be difficult,” adds Heisz.

He continues, “Sleep—which provides your body the necessary time to recover (恢复) and make gains from exercise—should always be the first choice. When it comes to exercise, regardless of research on the advantages of certain exercises at particular times of the day, your results will not be good if it doesn’t allow enough time for sleep.”

1. What can women get by doing evening exercise according to the study?
A.A fat loss.
B.A good mood.
C.A lower blood pressure.
D.A smaller risk of heart disease.
2. What does the author intend to do in paragraph 5?
A.Give an example.B.Tell the difference.
C.Do an experiment.D.Explain a term.
3. What does Heisz think is important to achieve good results of exercise?
A.Enough sleep.B.Low-fat food.
C.Plenty of water.D.Lots of exercise.
4. What is the best title for the text?
A.A Night Owl or An Early Bird
B.Why Fitness Plan Being Important
C.How to Change Your Exercise Time
D.The Best Time of a Day to Exercise
