1 . Do you think that creativity is the ability you were born with?
Many people believe that creative thinking is difficult and favors only some talented individuals and not most others.
Defined as novel and useful ideas, creative thoughts are original and unexpected, but also practicable.
Researcher Chris Bauman found that simply redefining a frustrating situation can improve the creativity of conventional thinkers. Say you’re anxious about a presentation for work, you can deal with the anxiety by viewing it as a new opportunity to share ideas, rather than as a high-risk performance that could result in a shame if handled poorly.
All People can unlock their creativity. Although the outside circumstances may not always be controlled, they do have the freedom to choose how to deal with life in ways that creatively promote their productivity and well-being.
A.Think again. |
B.You’ve got it. |
C.Everyday examples of creativity are plentiful. |
D.These beliefs miss a key part of how creativity works. |
E.The further you look into the situation, the better you can see. |
F.The media often presents creatives as those with striking personalities and gifts. |
G.Giving up your existing ideas and hitting on a new way of thinking make a difference. |
Saying that Samsung makes great tablets might sound strange to someone not too familiar with their devices, but the company has made some interesting strides with tablets. And much like their phones, Samsung has a wide variety in their products, with the very affordable Tab A7/A8, to the high-end flagship S8 ultra. So if you’re team Android as opposed to Apple, Samsung is probably the way to go.
Best tablet: Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra
Microsoft
Microsoft has traditionally been a major player in computing so it’s no shock that they also make well-designed and more than capable tablets — the Microsoft Surface. With the idea of the Surface tablets being a 2-in-1 device, a tablet that can functionally run like a laptop, running windows, and featuring basically the same processors that you’d find in a laptop.
And with an additional keyboard, great displays and long battery life, the Surface tablets make for great machines for work or play respectively.
Best tablet: Microsoft Surface Pro 8
Amazon
Amazon does indeed make tablets and, they’re capable too. Amazon’s Fire HD tablets are firmly in the budget tablet range but that doesn’t make them less capable. In terms of size, they range from seven up to ten inches and even include a kids’ tablet for the young ones. So if you prefer tablets over ten inches, you may be wanting to look elsewhere.
But all in all, they’re a good shout for a first-time tablet buyer that isn’t looking to spend a few hundred pounds on a device, but still wants to watch videos or browse the web on the go.
Best tablet: Amazon Fire HD 10 plus

7 . Have you ever noticed that lessons tend to repeat themselves? Does it seem as if you married or dated the same person several times in different bodies with different names? Have you run into the same type of boss over and over again? If you don't deal well with authority figures at home, then you will have an opportunity to deal with them out in the world. You will continually draw into your life people who need to enforce authority, and you will struggle with them until you learn the lesson of obedience(服从).
You will continually attract the same lesson into your life. You will also draw to you teachers to teach you that lesson until you get it right. You may try to avoid the situation, but they will eventually catch up with you. The only way you can free yourself of difficult patterns and issues you tend to repeat is by shifting your perspective so that you can recognize the patterns and learn the lessons that they offer. To face these challenges means you need to accept the fact that something within you keeps drawing you to the same kind of person or issue, though that situation or relationship may be very painful.
The challenge, therefore, is to identify and release the patterns that you are repeating. This is no easy task, since it means you have to change, and change is not always easy. Staying just as you are may not help you advance spiritually, but it certainly is comfortable in its familiarity.
Rising to the challenge of identifying and releasing your patterns forces you to admit that the way you have been doing things isn’t working. The good news is that by identifying and releasing the pattern, you actually learn how to change. In order to facilitate your process of change, you will need to learn the lessons of willingness and patience. Once you master these, you will most likely find the challenge of identifying and releasing your patterns far less intimidating.
1. The words “lessons tend to repeat themselves” (Para. l) probably mean that ______.A.you tend to marry and date the same person |
B.there are the same authority figures home and abroad |
C.you tend to run into the same problems in your life |
D.there are many difficult patterns and issues in your life |
A.try your best to avoid those situations |
B.recognize the patterns and learn the lessons that they offer |
C.get the courage to face those challenges |
D.change your attitudes toward life |
A.intimidating | B.disapproving | C.supportive | D.cautious |
A.make your change become easier |
B.help you to identify your old patterns |
C.challenge you with difficult patterns |
D.arouse your inner desire to change |

The aim of this report is to give an insight into the wide range of live music that is available in this area, and to single out one venue(场地)which I would particularly recommend visiting
Large venues
There are two live music venues of a reasonable size the Apollo and the Hippodrome. These attract headline acts from all parts of the U K,and occasionally from overseas too. The Apollo has recently been re-decorated and is clean, well-run and well-appointed. To my mind, however,it is a little on the boring side. The Hippodrome is the polar opposite--dark,dirty and poorly-managed and it could certainly do with better air-conditioning.But what it lacks in orderliness,it makes up for in character!
Smaller venues
If it's internationally-famous performers you're looking for,the Cave isn't the venue for you. However, as a showcase for local talents,it's enjoying quite a reputation among serious music fans in the area.Tickets are reasonably priced, with discounts for students and the unemployed. The room is a little cosy,to say the least, but that adds to the atmosphere! That said, it does have a tendency to be very crowded on Saturday nights, perhaps unpleasantly so.Stage One is somewhat larger than the Cave, with an advertised capacity of 350 as opposed to the Cave's 250.They tend to attract slightly better-known acts, but at £25-30 a throw, tickets aren't exactly cheap, and when bought over the phone incur an additional booking fee of £2.50 per ticket.
Recommendation
If you only have time to visit one venue, I would recommend ________. Its programme includes the best pop music bands in the UK and while it may not be the most polished show you've ever seen,it should be a memorable evening.
