2 . Thirteen years ago, the Planet Earth wildlife documentary took us all on an amazing journey. We went from deep rainforests to the bottom of the ocean. Now a new one ,Our Planet, will let us see different animals and the influence of humans on the natural world. The documentary covers 50 countries and areas. It took more than four years to produce it.
With the latest 4K video technology, the show allows people a wonderful new look at nature. "People are given a chance to better get themselves into the lives of the animals” said Fothergill, one of the show s producers.
Besides showing Earth’s beauty, the documentary also talks about the planet's climate conditions. "Our Planet is here to say,' The planet is dying, and we're killing it.’" Fothergill said. In one sad scene, hundreds of walruses(海象),half-blind when out of the water, fall down a rock and suffer a painful death on the beach below. It shows how the climate conditions have influenced their natural habitat and explains why they've been forced to find the safe place on the rocks.
But the documentary is not all about sadness. It also talks about success stories, such as the ones of tigers. These animals are saved and live happily thanks to international agreements on environmental protection.
Asking more people to take action in protecting our planet is the final goal of the new documentary. What we do in the next 20 years will decide the future of all life on Earth.

3 . We all have a favorite little spot to eat. Maybe it's a noodles cart or a sandwich shop. Well, it seems that you don't have to make that difficult choice now. A new Netflix documentary(纪录片)series, Street Food, aims to tell the world about all of our favorite little spots.
Released on April 26,2019, the series takes viewers through nine Asian countries and regions in search of local communities and their cuisines, from Tom Yum in Bangkok, Thailand, to snails in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Despite the series' title, Street Food is actually about people.
“At its heart, the show explores how and why some people end up selling noodles, sweets or rice on the street, and the answers aren't always easy,” wrote Zach Johnston of news website UPROXX.
Take Toyo from Osaka, Japan, as an example. He's locally famous for serving food and jokes. “He seems like the happiest man alive,” writes Calum Henderson in the New Zealand Herald, “until he talks about his father and starts crying.” Toyo learned how to cook as a child, out of necessity. His father didn't care about feeding him. Without any money, Toyo would cook weeds and leaves he found in the fields near his school. Today, Toyo has a job that he loves. What about the people who love to eat street food?
“In India, there's this Nihari stew(炖菜),” recalled the series' creator Brian McGinn in an interview with the website Mashable. “Every morning, hundreds of people line up for this stew in this alleyway(小巷)…as everyone tries to be one of the people who are going to get some of this stew before they run out.” Moments like these can be found throughout the series, showing that street food is important to local cultures and communities. McGinn says food is a way to look at and understand people's lives. "It's not just nice food shots," Gelb told Mashable. “It's the story, the context and the character that make the food more delicious, more meaningful and more powerful.”

There's almost an app for everything nowadays, and this can make student life easier, cheaper, safer and more fun. Whether you want help with taking notes, revising, waking up on time or keeping fit, read on for our student app picks.
Lecture recording apps
Just a few years ago, students attending lectures would have to spend the entire time writing wildly on notepads, in order not to miss any vital bit of information. Then along came technology, and now, lecture recording apps are a reality.
Sound Note is a popular lecture recording app for iPad users. You can store an entire lecture in both visual and audio form. Other good quality lecture recording apps include Notes Plus and Audio Memos Free—The Voice Recorder.
Student planner apps
Organization is key for success and well-being at university, and student planner apps are becoming increasingly popular. As well as saving on paper, many student planner apps also send reminders and warnings straight to your phone or device. Popular student planner apps include Timetable, My Class Schedule and Class Timetable.
Student safety apps
A number of apps for students have been developed promoting personal safety if out alone at night. The Circle of Six app is particularly useful for locating lost friends on nights out and also allows users to send their circle of six friends an instant call for help at the touch of a button. Other student apps that promote safety include bSafe and React Mobile.
