The Work-study Program gives you the chance to work part-time on campus. If you need more money to cover all of your education-related costs, you may be eligible for this program.
Advantages
·Work experience: Last year, more than 1, 400 positions were available across all departments. The jobs vary from one department to the next, and in most cases, participants find a position in their chosen field.
·Money: During the regular academic year (September to April), you can work part-time and earn $3, 200--sometimes more -- while you take courses! During the summer time, you work full-time and can earn around $6, 000 over 18 weeks.
·Easy access: Applying for the program is easy. There is no need for face-to-face interview. All the forms you need are online; just fill in the forms and email us; we accept no letter or phone application!

The office will not be open from 23rd July until 3rd September for enrolment in person due to building work, however, we will be taking bookings over the phone and by email during this time.

·Fees are payable in full when you enrol.
·Refunds (退款) will be paid in fUll when a class is closed according to the College’s decision, or if you cancel your enrolment at least two weeks before the course starts. If you decide to cancel less than two weeks before the course starts you will receive a 50% refund. Unfortunately we cannot offer a refund if a course has already started.

Yukon Outdoors Club

UBC Varsity Outdoor Club

Description: The UBC Varsity Outdoor Club is a social group that hikes, mountaineers, kayaks (皮划艇), rock climbs and ice climbs. Travel and outdoor-minded UBC students and non-students are welcome to join. Members lead trips, run skills workshops, host presentations and tune gear. For a refundable deposit, members can borrow equipment from the clubroom’s gear cache (器材存放点). The UBC VOC has also constructed a few backcountry (偏僻地区) huts in the Coast Mountains.
Pender Harbor Hiking Group

Description: Now in its fourth year and boasting about 100 members, the Pender Harbor Hiking Group offers a way for members to meet like-minded individuals and get fit. Hikes are scheduled two months in advance, so get on the mailing list or check the website regularly to find a hike that’s right for you! Show up at the designated meeting point, and get hiking. Hikes are usually one and a half to two hours long every Monday and Wednesday morning, but some full-day hikes are scheduled, depending on member interest.
Vernon Outdoors Club

Description: Boasting a membership of close to 200 people, the Vernon Outdoors Club is an active group that enjoys hiking and cycling. 8 . Sydney Cinemas in Historic Buildings
The Orpheum
Running since 1935, the Orpheum is of beautiful art design. When it was built, the Orpheum was used as a theatre with a stage and dressing rooms. It could seat 1,735 people. Later, the theatre was turned into a shopping mall. However, in 1986 the theatre was bought by Mike Walsh OBE and turned into a theatre again. Now this six-screen cinema shows old and new films to people. And you can still enjoy live (现场的) music on weekends.

The Ritz
This family-owned cinema was built in 1937. At first, the cinema had a number of owners until, in 1993, when the owners planned to pull down the building, the local government ordered people to protect it forever. Since then, another five screens have been added, making the Ritz one of Sydney’s oldest multiscreen cinemas. It’s known for its beautiful architecture (建筑风格) and low ticket prices.

Golden Age Cinema and Bar (酒吧)
Golden Age Cinema has been carefully rebuilt. It now includes a wonderful bar that serves wines, beers and cocktails, and serves snacks and food specials to match the cinema program.
