It was at the 2012 1SU World Figure Skating Championships that I first saw Japanese figure skater Hanyu Yuzuru. He was competing in free skating with     1     piece of music from Romeo and Juliet. I was     2     (immediate) attracted to his incredible performance along with the expressive music.

Yuzuru has been an     3     (inspire) for me in my years as a senior high school student. In his career so far, he     4     (experience) innumerable difficulties and countless injuries. In 2014’s ISU Grand Prix, he was badly hurt on the ice due to a collision. Even though he was bleeding, he still insisted on     5     (compete) with no regrets. What’s more, in the 2018 Rostelecom Cup in Moscow, he couldn’t even walk because of a problem with the ligament (韧带) in his right ankle. Chinese teenager Quan Hongchan won the gold medal for the women's 10-meter platform diving at the Tokyo Olympic Games on Thursday.

Not only is Quan the youngest     1     (compete) in the women's diving field, but also she's the youngest of 431 athletes     2     China sent to Tokyo for the Olympics.   Had the Games gone on as scheduled last summer, she would have been too young     3     (meet) the minimum age (14) to compete in the diving competition. Now, she's made Olympic history.

Each of Quan's dives was the highest of the five rounds of competition at the 10-meter platform. Two scored perfect 10s from all seven     4     (judge).
