The Spring Festival

The Double Seventh Festival

On the 7th day of the 7th lunar month, there is a traditional festival full of romance. Recently the youth have celebrated it as Valentine’s Day in China.

The Mid-Autumn Festival

It is a traditional festival for both the Han and minority nationalities in China.The custom of worshipping (礼拜) the moon can be dated back to the ancient Xia and Shang dynasties. The Mid-Autumn Festival is also a holiday for members of a family to get together.

The Double Ninth Festival

On the ninth day of the ninth month in the Chinese lunar calendar, people celebrate the Double Ninth Festival. People usually climb mountains and eat double-ninth cakes, which means our life will become better and better.

Activity 3: Wilton Free Public Library’s Birthday Party

The library is turning 100 years old! All are welcome to attend the party celebrating 100 years of the beautiful library building. I’m Li Hua,How are you going these days? As you know, there are various destination of cultural heritage in China. Yet the one I like better for visiting is Mogao Caves. The reasons for my choice is as follows.

Mogao Caves are located at a key point along the Silk Route, that is the crossroads of trade as well religious, cultural and intellectual influences. Mogao are distinguishing for their statues and wall paintings, spanned 1,000 years of Buddhist art with an unmatched historical value. It’s a appealing place that you won’t miss it. It’s really worth visiting and I’m extreme looking forward to visiting it soon.
