When handling hot cookers or touching any hot surfaces, always wear oven gloves to avoid burns. Moreover, heat oil slowly and monitor it closely to prevent it from splattering (泼洒), which can cause serious injuries.     3    , as the escaping steam can be extremely hot.

    4    . This is crucial both before and after handling food. Additionally, it is vital to use separate cutting boards for raw meat to avoid infection. Moreover, all food should be cooked to the recommended temperatures. Only in this way can we make sure that harmful bacteria are got rid of, thus promoting food safety.

It is important to educate children about kitchen safety and make them aware of the potential risks in the kitchen. Keep them away from hot surfaces, sharp tools, and electrical appliances to prevent accidents. Encourage them to engage in safe cooking activities under the eyes of an adult to develop their interest in cooking.     5    .

2 . Since living in China, I’d always heard that Sichuan province had the spiciest cuisine. I finally made my way to Chengdu to satisfy my eagerness.

With 45% of its local people aged between 14 and 45, making it one of China’s most youthful places, it boasted an energetic atmosphere dotted with trendy shops, cafes, and live music. People wandered leisurely along the streets, enjoying the free time with those who don’t work overtime.

As the sun sets, Chengdu truly comes alive. The city buzzes (充斥着) with countless bars and music venues. I chose a bar to hear myself think. My waiter brought me a cocktail with Sichuan peppers and I asked where I could taste the most special hotpot. She suggested Long Sen Yuan Hotpot. I made a reservation. Afterwards, I took a walk along the amazing Jinjiang River. I’m not a person for solo walks typically, but I was curious about the Jiuyan Bridge, the highlight of the area, which bears the architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasties.

The next day, I went to Long Sen Yuan. Having ordered some food, I asked for the spicy broth(火锅锅底) and learned I could choose from three levels of spiciness. I ordered the spiciest broth available. The waiter made eye contact to warn about how spicy it was. “Bring it on,” I challenged. The hotpot lived up to its reputation. I found the first bite bearable. However, any experienced spicy food expert will tell you that spice builds as you eat, and I had a lot of broth to get through. By the end of the meal, I was sweating all over. The experience was perfect, and I would highly recommend it, I even shot a selfie with the waiter as a memory of my spicy adventure.

China, with a history stretching back thousands of years, has a rich and diverse traditional culture. This culture,    1     is passed down through generations, is seen in     2     (difference) aspects of Chinese life.

One typical example is the art of calligraphy,    3     (consider) as a national treasure. The beauty of Chinese calligraphy     4     (reflect) the harmony of nature and the universe. It is known for its wide variety of creatures, which will make you have the chance to see the unique birds, bats and bears up close with a six-day hike. The world can be kind of a boring place without the colorful natural wonders. So that’s what I’ve decided to treat you to!

Rising in the Sierra de Huelva mountains of southwestern Spain, this 62-mile river gets its stunning orange and red colors from copper, iron, and other heavy metals. The best way to enjoy the beauty is by visiting the small mining town of Nerva. Note that only about half the length of the river features these colors.

Known by Stoney Nakota First Nations folks as Ho-run-num-nay, this glacial lake located in Banff National Park gets its turquoise color from finely grained rock particles contained within the ice as it melts in the lake. If you’re a big fan of the movie Thelma & Louise, you’ll be happy to know that there also happens to be a Lake Thelma.

Provence, a geographical region of southeastern France is famous in the summers for its lush lavender fields. To see them with your own eyes, mosey on up to the Luberon and Verdon plateau regions north of Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, or head east past Avignon. But the window is rather brief; they start to blossom around the beginning of June and then by mid-July they’re done-zo.

Huge rice stan? Anyway, Yunnan, China is calling your name. With a history going back more than 1,200 years, this series of rice-growing terraces — covering territory more than one million acres — are located in the western part of the country. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013. It sure took them long enough!

6 . Music can be a great mental rest, allowing you to relax and get lost in your favorite songs.     1     Here are some ways music can make you a better person and positively impact your everyday life.

Boost (增强) your creativity. Music is a creativity booster. When you turn up the songs that make you joyful, your brain gets more creative.     2     Find the music that makes you feel positive and cheered up, so your creative juices can flow.

Build cooperation and connection with people. Playing a musical instrument helps you connect with people with similar interests.     3    

    4     Music has a magic al power to promote emotions. Listening to joyful music lifts your happiness levels, which can make you more generous. It’s like a happy circle where feeling good makes you want to give back, and giving back makes you feel even better.

Improve physical health and performance.     5     Music improves our energy and endurance, and makes exercise more fun. And if you have your headphones on during works, you’re more likely to stick with your fitness routines.

7 . Garden goals can often be unclear. But in my opinion, not having a clear aim in mind when we are designing, creating and maintaining a garden can lead to a range of problems down the road. We must know where we’re going to determine our direction. Usually, without clear goals in mind, we end up setting out in entirely the wrong direction.

Creating our own perfect garden needs time. Waiting and failures can be dispiriting and many gardeners give up or feel disgruntled. It is always best to take our time and make progressive steps toward our overall goals.

With a clear idea of those goals, we can determine better how we are progressing toward them, even when nothing goes according to plan. We can see our success more clearly and can’t get hung up on smaller things that go wrong along the way.

Another thing clear garden goals can give us is a sense of the light at the end of the tunnel—something keeping us centered on what really matters. We need to have something to aim for to keep focus on the longer term. In a garden, it is easy to become distracted and some gardeners throw everything at their gardens in the hope that something will stick.

Buying too many plants for a garden is not only a recipe for disappointment, when things don’t end up working as expected, but also makes your efforts unsustainable. By buying only what you need, you can reduce your harmful impact and live in an environmentally friendly way.

Establishing clear goals helps us visualize our own needs and priorities (优先事项) more clearly. It helps us see what our gardens can truly provide for us and see how our gardening efforts can also help others and be of great benefit in the wider world.

9 . Huang Gongwang was a famous Chinese artist in the Yuan Dynasty. He was good at music, poetry, writing and especially painting.

Huang was born in 1269 in Jiangsu Province. Sadly, when he was young, his parents died and he lived a poor life. But then, a nice man from Zhejiang Province adopted (收养) him and took care of him. The kind man was impressed by the boy’s talent. Later Huang began to learn painting under the guidance of Zhao Mengfu.

Between the ages of 50 and 62, Huang often travelled in nature. During the long-term travelling, he developed an interest in rivers and mountains. When living in Songjiang, Huang often watched and enjoyed the fantastic scenery there. Sometimes he sat in the mountains all day, even forgetting to eat and have a rest. While enjoying the beauty of nature, he got lots of good ideas about what to paint.

Huang drew lots of paintings during his later life. But most of them have gone missing over the centuries. Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains (《富春山居图》) is one of the few surviving works and it is considered to be among his greatest works. It describes the autumn scenery along Fuchun River in southern China with ink and wash. After years of efforts, Huang finished painting Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains. Unluckily, this painting was later burnt into two pieces. Now, the two pieces are carefully kept in two different museums.

During Huang’s life, he made great achievements in painting. Because of his great ability in art, Huang was considered one of the Four Great Masters of the Yuan Dynasty.

10 . Travelers love to explore and find out amazing places to visit. Do you know what are some of the coolest places in the world?

It’s right in the middle of the city, so it’s very easy to visit. People from all around the world can take direct flights to Rome every day. You can even go there on a weekend if you want! When you visit Rome, you can walk through the streets with ancient buildings and see the Colosseum.

When you walk through Angkor Wat, the famous ancient buildings, it feels like you’re traveling back in time! This is, without doubt, one of the most impressive sites in Southeast Asia and the main reason why many people visit Cambodia.

It’s famous because it’s located high up in the mountains, covered in jungles. The view there is amazing! It’s pretty impressive that the builders made this beautiful place in the middle of the jungle. Now visitor numbers are limited to a maximum per day.
