1 . The aim of establishing school rules and regulations is to encourage good behavior, teach students self discipline (自律), and maintain a harmonious learning environment to match the image and reputation of our school. School rules and regulations are applicable to all students.

Role of the parents

The primary duty and responsibility of the parents is to educate their children by example to respect the dignity of others, They are also very influential in developing among their children the virtues of love, justice generosity, industry and honesty which are important to their lives.

Attendance and punctuality

School schedule: Students should be in their classrooms prepared to work by 7: 30 am. Regular attendance and punctuality are important for the academic progress of the students. Students must be regular in their attendance and have at least 80% attendance in order to sit for tests and examinations. Absence lasting for more than three days has to be accompanied by a medical certificate.

Language

English is the only language to be used by students in school (except during the other language lessons).

Discipline

One of the most important aspects of education is discipline, which is the training that develops self-control, orderliness, efficiency, and character. The basis of all discipline is the principle of respect — respect for one’s self，for others, and for all children.

In order to form proper habits and attitudes, the following rules for good conduct are expected to be followed by every student:

2 . A six-month-old corgi being trained to become the first of his breed to work as a police dog in China, made his first public appearance recently at the open day of a police camp in Weifang, Shandong Province.

His appearance challenges the stereotype (固有模式) that “little short legs” cannot join the police force. Fu Zai,whose name means “Lucky Boy”, has made waves on social media with his iconic smile,short legs and wagging tail.

As a reserve police dog, Fu Zai faces a heavy workload. Training, scheduled for every morning and afternoon, involves a variety of subjects, such as obedience exercises, bomb searches and scent (气味) tracking. He began training when he was two months old and has stood out and outperformed many of his peers.

“His strong environmental adaptability, insensitivity, his desire to possess items and his fondness for food are particularly favorable in our training,” said Wang Yanan, head of the police dog base at the Weifang Public Security Bureau.

Following four months of training, Fu Zai can now take advantage of his short legs to go beneath cars and easily search tight spaces. He can also improve interactions between police dogs and the public because of his adorable appearance.

Fans on social media joked about Fu Zai. One of them wrote, “Corgis can be plainclothes police, for they attract less attention than German Shepherds.”

“Police dogs are not only cute, but trainers have made a lot of efforts to train them to be professional,” Wang said.

Fu Zai is still a fresh hand and must undergo a period of further training to adapt to complex environment before officially entering service.

5 . Recently, a research team from Nanjing Agriculural University has rolled out Xunzi — a large language model (LLM)

Wang Dongbo, the leader of the research team, said that the large language model was named after Xunzi because Xunzi was not only an outstanding Confucian philosopher during the late Warring States Period (475 — 221 BC), but also a pioneer in presenting and explaining theories of linguistics in ancient China.

When asked why he and his team made the large language model, Wang explained, “Traditional Chinese characters, vertical layout (竖版), the absence of pausing and punctuation are all barriers that readers have to overcome when they read traditional texts.”

To create Xunzi the LLM,Wang and his team first needed to do a lot of research. Since 2013, his team has worked tirelessly to digitize Chinese classics like the Siku Quanshu.

“The hard work involves a large-scale corpus (语料库) of two billion Chinese characters, which has laid a solid foundation for the large language model,” said Wang. But their efforts seem to have paid off.

Now Xunzi the LLM can tag (标记), translate, punctuate, and understand scraps (片段) of ancient Chinese texts. It can even do part-of-speech analysis and retrieve (检索) specific information, such as names, events, and places from a text.

Through Xunzi's retrieval function,users can get more specifie cultural information. “The model can help us mine for more information hidden in our cultural legacy and find unnoticed models and connections,” said Wang. But Wang and his team aren't simply focused on target users in China. They are aiming at the rest of the world as well. They have shared the LLM on GitHub and other websites, allowing users to download and use it for free.

“Our team is committed to the philosophy of making our data and model globally accessible. We hope this will encourage more people to appreciate traditional Chinese culture,” Wang explained.

6 . One reason disorganization is so often tied to mental health is that it can have a negative impact on the way we see ourselves and the lives we lead. Though many people recognize and desire the mental and physical health benefits that come from becoming more organized, some don’t know where to begin.

“I advise starting small,” says Natalie Christine Dattilo, a psychologist. “It’s easy to become overwhelmed if you try to tackle an entire room, so you can set yourself up for success by starting with a single drawer, bookshelf, or kitchen closet.” She also suggests making organization more enjoyable by listening to music or an audio-book while you’re at it and “spending time in your newly organized space to let yourself enjoy it.”

When it comes to the process of organizing, Julie Morgenstern, a professional organizer, advises sorting items into categories such as keep, throw, and relocate. 8 . Thai wildlife officials have laid out a plan to bring peace to a central Thai city after at least a decade of human-monkey conflict （冲突）.

The monkeys that hang around Lopburi are a major tourist draw. But after years of conflicts with residents and visitors, and several failed attempts to bring peace with population controls, local people and businesses have had enough.

The monkeys often try to take food from humans, sometimes leaving people with injuries. In March a woman got her knee hurt after a monkey pulled her off her feel, and another man was knocked off a motorcycle by a hungry monkey.

The authorities hope to catch some 2,500 monkeys and place them in massive wildlife preserves, said Athapol Charoenshunsa, the director-general of the Department of National parks, Wildlife and plant Conservation. They’ll work with wildlife experts to find a way for a limited number of monkeys to stay freely in the city, he added.

“I don’t want humans to have to hurt monkeys, and I don’t want monkeys to have to hurt humans,” he told reporters during a news conference in Bangkok. “I expect the first period of the operation to start within weeks, and I believe the wildlife preserve will be able to contain （容纳） thousands of them and will solve the problem very quickly.”

Athapol said they are also working in other areas of Thailand that are facing problems with monkeys. He said 52 of the country’s 77 provinces often report monkey problems.

The monkeys are said to be a symbol of the province, about 140 kilometers north of Bangkok, where the ancient Three Pagodas temple celebrates a yearly “Monkey Buffet” festival. However, some have complained about the city’s monkey troubles on tourists and residents feeding the animals, which they say drew monkeys into the city, helped with their numbers, and got them used to getting food from humans.

10 . Tilly Williams, a Parkside primary student, has broken a world distance running record, beating other girls who were eight years older than her to run 5,000m in just 17 minutes and 22. 7 seconds.

Tilly started running just three years ago and has already shot straight to the top. When some of her friends told her about the international record, she decided to give it a go while competing at the SA State Championships.

“Some of my running friends told me about it and I was like, wow, it would be crazy if I got that and here I am,” Tilly said. “I am the kind of person who really enjoys the challenge,” she added, “I really love surfing and I love bike riding and hiking - all different kinds of adventures and sports.”

She started running in 2021 when she joined her school’s cross-country team. Since then, she has run two to three times a week with her dad, Mark Williams, or at the Adelaide Harriers Athletics Club.

Tilly said, “It’s good knowing that my family’s on my side and my friends are on my side as well. Usually I just go out and run with my running group and with my dad as well because it is like a bond.”

Tilly doesn’t follow a strict diet, so her favourite food is still on the menu - her dad’s home-cooked pizza. “I do love pepperoni pizza,” she said.

“You never think that anyone’s going to get a world record at this age, at any age really. It’s just surreal,” Mr. Williams said, “It’s very important to recognise these achievements, but also to stay very much grounded and just enjoy the other pursuits that she likes. She loves her running, but she does so many other things as well and I think it’s really important that the focus is on life rather than just one thing.”
