There are a few tips old people should keep in mind while traveling during the long weekend. Consider these tips to keep your travelling stress-free.
1.Plan ahead.
Get to know your destination ahead of time. Find out the weather for the weekend and choose some fun places to go with loved ones. You also can pack the necessary items like an umbrella. If you need a wheelchair or other devices, inform the place you’re staying ahead of time.
2.
Let your doctor know about your travel plans. He may want to discuss medications or dietary changes and offer sound medical advice.
3.
The old should always think about any medicine they take daily. Bring enough medicine to last you the entire weekend. Pack your medications in your carry-on if you’re flying. That way, if there are travel delays, you’ll be prepared. Don’t leave your medications exposed in your room while you’re away. Always place them in a safe spot out of harm’s reach.
4.Avoid showing flashy items.
Keep your jewelry at home while you’re travelling or tuck it in a hidden spot. If you’re staying in a hotel, use the room safe to hold valuables such as wallets while you’re gone. Avoid placing the “clean my room” sign on the door. If you are on the first floor always keep windows locked to avoid break-ins.
5.
Old people should always aim to travel comfortably. Pack flat shoes with good support. Even the smallest of heels can throw off your balance and possibly cause you to fall. Use luggage with wheels for easy mobility.
A. Travel comfortably.
B. Talk to your doctor.
C. Take your doctor with you.
D. Consider your medications.
5 . Walking home from school one day, I saw Dan, a kid from my school, on the other side of the road. I said to myself, “He must be a real nerd.” As he was carrying a lot of books. As I continued walking, I saw a group of kids run into Dan, knocking his books out of his arms and pushing him so he fell over. So, I ran over to help him, and as we were picking up his books, I saw tears in his eyes. As I helped him stand up, I said, “Those kids are stupid.” He looked at me and said “Thanks.” There was a grateful smile on his face.
We started talking and soon realized that we lived near each other. We talked all the way home. Dan turned out to be a pretty cool kid. We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Dan, the more I liked him. Dan and I became best friends.
Over the next four years, he became more popular and all the girls loved him. In our senior year, Dan got the best grades in our school, and had to give a speech for graduation.
As Dan stated his speech, he looked at me. “Graduation is a time to thank the people who helped you survive those tough years—your parents, your teachers, but mostly your friends. Being a friend is the best gift you can give. I’m going to tell you the story.” I just looked at Dan in amazement as he told the story of the first day we met. He had planned to drop out of school and run away from home that weekend. Dan talked of how he had emptied his locker so his mom wouldn’t have to do it later and was carrying all of his books home. He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. “Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from making a huge mistake.” Everyone looked at Dan in shock as he told us about his weakest moment.

6 . Sport is very popular in England. In other words, lots of English people like the idea of sport. A lot watch sport on TV. But the number who take part in sport is quite small.
On the whole, English people prefer to be fat rather than thin.
The most popular sport in England is football. Football is played on Saturday afternoon in most towns and the supporters of a certain team will travel from one end of the country to the other to see their team play. There are four divisions(级别) of the football league. Not Surprisingly, the best teams are in the first division. But the best supporters are often in the fourth division. You have to be a good supporter to watch the fourth division football!
Many other sports are also played in England, such as golf, in which you try to knock a ball into a hole; basketball, in which you try to get a ball through a net; tennis, in which you try to hit a ball so that your opponent(对手) can not hit it. As you see, if the ball had not been invented, there would have been no sport.
Actually, that is not quite true. Athletics(田径)isn’t played with a ball, nor horse racing. Perhaps that is why they are not as popular as football!
