Six-year-old Ismail Zulfic was born without arms and used to be scary of going into the water after a incident in a pool. So that changed when the little boy met Amel Kapo. He sets up a local swimming club after noticing how disabled kids struggled to swim in pools for lack of special equipments for them. Kapo taught Zulfic swim. Zulfic was able to swim well after a little months of practice. He even won a gold medal in a local swimming competition for disabled people, finish well ahead of other swimmers. This butterfly without wings shows up that desire, will and perseverance are things that real pay off.

Although the first time I flew on a plane were eight years ago, but I can still remember how afraid I was that day. As the child, I had wondered what it would be like to flying on a plane. In March of 2011, I went on my first plane ride with my parents. We flew from Beijing to London to visit ours relatives. It was a large plane. There were a lot people on it. I was very nervous during the journey that I did not eat any meal. I stay awake all the way. I wouldn’t go to the bathroom. I cannot tell you, how relaxing I was when the plane final landed at the airport.

Several days ago, my classmates and I visited to the Cincinnati School for the Blind and Deaf. We had party with some of the student there and had a wonderful time. I met a girl at the party. She couldn’t speak or hear, but we “talked” by writing on each other hands. When saying goodbye, she writes on my hand, “Please come here as often as possible.” Many people are concerning about disabled people and give her money. However, I think which we should do is to communicate with them rather than give money. If you want to help disabled people, making friends with them and visit them regularly. Yesterday I met a young student, that came from the USA, in the Palace Museum. It was first time that I had met a foreigner, so I went to greet him with English. He told me that he was a college student traveling in China and he likes China very much. I offered to show him around to the museum. He was impressing by the Chinese culture and busy taking photo all the time. He said he hadn’t seen such beauty buildings before. After that, we went boating and had a good time together. This morning I went to ask for my English teacher to give me some advice on why to learn English well on the weekend. When I arrived his office at 8 o’clock, he had already done her work for almost one hour. First, we should make a plan of study and carry it out until we succeed. Then, we must master any basic knowledge of English such as 26 letters and 48 sounds. Vocabulary is bricks and grammar is bones. We can make different kind of phrases and sentences with them according the rules. Finally, practice make perfect. When I leave, it was 12 o’clock. Through this lesson, I learned something which couldn’t be learned from textbooks.
