I’d like to share with you my favourite practical courses: racing the dragon boat and making zongzi, both of them are the traditional custom in the Dragon Boat Festival. The Dragon Boat Festival celebrated in memory of an ancient poet Qu Yuan, who drowned him into Miluo River. His poems can always remind people on his devotion to his motherland. What’s more, racing together can develop our team spirit, which can help us gain succeed in future. Last but not the least, learn to make zongzi can raise our awareness of developing traditional food. Most importantly, through these courses, not only can I gather more information about traditional culture and I can also have a better understanding of our culture and our country.

When I was ten years old, I went to Yangzhou with two American. I became their guide. First, we went to the Shouxi River. They want to look around the river by boat. After buy the tickets, we got into a boat. We went around seeing the beautiful sight. After that, we went shopping. The sellers couldn’t speak English. Though it was very harder, I tried my best listen to their words careful and translate the sentences. They bought some little things with their help. Next, we went to a small zoo but took some pictures. When we felt hungry, we went to have a lunch. After lunch, we visited some old houses which they learned more about Chinese history.

Last week, our school holds a “Loving Post” donation ( 捐赠) activity in the school hall in order to helping students in poor areas. All of the teachers or students took an active part the activity. They donated lots of clothes, books and schoolbag to students in need. Beside, they wrote down their best wishes on cards, what would be collected and delivered to schools in poor areas. The activity was total successful. Last Saturday, I join a voluntary activity organizing by our school. My classmates and I took a bus and went to the Animal Rescue Center in our city, what some homeless dogs and cats were careful kept. As soon as we arrived there, the workers told us that how these animals were collected and what they did to help them. Then they were divided into small group and helped them clean the cages (笼子). We were also given some food to feed these animals. We were all delightful that we could do anything for them. I also learned animals are our friends and that we should take care them.

I am applying a volunteer position in the coming games. Personally, I consider me a qualified candidate from the follow three reasons. Firstly, as a sports fan, my sports talents let me to behave well in any volunteer position. Our parents gives us not only life but also endless love and support and always share our happy and sorrow. I’m very grate to my parents who give me so much love and spare no effort to support me. I like traveling to different parts of our country during my holiday. One of my most favorite trips is to Tibet. Last winter, I paid a visit to my uncle whom lives in Tibet. I took a train from Lanzhou to Lhasa and the journeys cost me more than 22 hours. At my arrival in Lhasa, my uncle invited me eat some delicious local food. I get a deep impression of the kindness of the locals. It was obviously that everybody lived a happy life. Travel to Tibet gives me strength to change himself. I’m determined to study hard to make contributions to our country from then on.
