How I became a good table tennis player is still freshly in my mind. The first day I went to high school, I find some of my classmates playing table tennis. Amazing at how skillful they were, I made up my mind to master the skills. Luckily, I had a few opportunity to watch my classmates’games and practise with them. However, I found difficult to challenge some good players in my class. Despite it, I kept practised until I became one of the best. As a result, I were even selected to represent our school in some matches. I take great pride of this experience. It not only makes me to realize that I can achieve my potential through hard work, but lets me understand that the proverb “Practice makes perfect” means.

Last month, my town hit by an unexpected flood. It rained heavily, turning streets into rivers or homes into islands in a flash. As the water risen alarmingly, panic set in between the residents. Unfortunately, because of our self-protection awareness and joint efforts from all sides, the flood didn’t cause seriously damage. Shortly after that, the local government recommended tip on surviving in floods. It advised our to quickly move to a higher ground to avoid being drowned and to avoid contact with polluted water to reduce the risk of infection. Stay away from power sources to prevent electric shock was also on the list.

My grandfather, a retired teacher, is in his early eighty. Though problems came along with age, he never gives up learning. That he enjoys most in his spare time is picking up a book to read it, with glasses on. Wherever he meets new words, he will look them up in a dictionary. His thirsty for knowledge has great influenced me and my brother. As a result, we have made up our minds study hard and both of us agreed with the dream of being teachers in the future. Now we’re looking forward to making it realize.

We had a school trip on last Sunday. Hundreds of us took part in it excitedly. At 8: 00 a. m., we set out for the top of Jiuhuang Mountain in high spirits. All the way we was chatting, singing and laughing, enjoyed the fresh air and beautiful scenery. When someone fall behind, others would come to offer help. About two hour later, we all reached the top. Seeing from there, the river below looked like thin belt. We were so happy that we jumped and cheered with joyful. The activity benefited us a lot. Not only did they get close to nature, but also we relaxed ourselves. How a wonderful experience!

Li Bai's love of reading and travelling contributed his romantic style. He started studying the classics earlier when he was only five years old. He is reading ancient philosophers of different schools at the age of ten, including Confucianism and Taoism. By reading books of all the kinds, he got familiar with classical Chinese culture. More importantly, he acquired the wisdom of previous generation. Li Bai's romantic style was also deeply rooted in the social but historical context in that he lived. As we all know, Li Bai grew up in the most glory period of the Tang Dynasty. This open and tolerant atmosphere had a huge impact on her poetic production. Today, Li Bai's poetry continues to be enjoying by countless readers around the world.

How time flies! We were going to graduate soon. Stood here, I feel honored to have an opportunity express my heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Zhang. Looking back on the past three years, I can’t thank for her too much. When I entered senior high, I was deeply impressed by her excellent spoken English and patient. So I was determined to work hard at English. Therefore, the pressure of study made me feel so depressing that I couldn’t focus on my study. She noticed it and offered me some constructive advices. It was her constant encouragement which helped me regain confidence. Feeling deeply grateful to her for what he has done for me, I wish her all the best.

I'm preparing for a trip to Rome, Italy, which I'm exciting about. In fact, I don't travel much outside China, or I often travel inside China. Last year, I flew to Beijing to visit my cousin who lives there. The flight was lasted four hours from where I live. In Beijing, we went to Tian'anmen Square watch the raising of the national flag, and climbed the Great Wall. We had great funs. Now, I'm waiting with my suitcases for a taxi to take myself to the airport. It's said that a journey by air will be such long that it will take 20 hours. Think of the wonderful places there, I can't real wait.

Finally, considering that there was a growing interest in Peking Opera in your school now, we plan to introduce it to you. But your schoolmates can prepare some relevant questions at advance. I would appreciate them if you could give me further details.

As modern technology brings so much convenient to us, traditional things are fading away. Take paper-cutting in example. When I was very small, it was too popular that most women could cut all kind of interesting shapes. Today I found that most of them had stopped to cutting paper, because they could buy it at a very lower price. Besides, young people don’t learn such art as paper-cutting, for they think this is not necessary to learn old-fashion things. Personal, tradition should not abandoned. It is the reflection of our culture. Even face the challenge, we need to inherit the tradition.
