The awards ceremony for the Fifth Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)Short Video Competition took place in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The traditional Chinese painting is     1     (fundamental) an abstract art form. Objects in Chinese paintings are a less direct copy of the natural world,     2     comparison to Western paintings. Dream interpreting is popular in China, and the most famous     1     (refer) for dream interpreting is the book Duke of Zhou Interprets Dreams.

The book is said to be written by Ji Dan, who     2     (title) Duke Wen of Zhou during the Western Zhou Dynasty. He assisted Emperor Wu and Emperor Cheng     3     (establish) systems of rites and music, making the Western Zhou Dynasty peaceful and prosperous, which led to him     4     (address) as the Sage.

The Duke of Zhou was, and still     5     (be), honored as a wise ruler and his attributed works influence Chinese thought to this day. One area     6     this is particularly the case is in the area of dreams.

Though some people consider the book as a superstition(迷信), it is     7     (scientific) reasonable to some degree. Zhou’s dream interpretations were so accurate     8     they were widely accepted as the standard for centuries. His interpretations were based on the belief that dreams are a reflection of our innermost thoughts and feelings. He believed that dreams could provide insight     9     our unconscious desires and reveal hidden truths about our lives.

Desertification is a serious problem     1     (face) numerous countries in the world. Shi Guangyin, an eco-warrior from Shanxi Province,     2     (battle) desertification for about 40 years. Born in a town on the southern edge of the Mu Us Desert, Shi remembers how sandstorms easily destroyed the crops the villagers had grown and made their life     3     misery.

In 1984, the government issued new policies to encourage individuals to plant trees in contracted sand lands. Despite the     4     (oppose) of his family, Shi resigned from his leadership position at a state-owned farm and began his fight against desertification.

Tibet was a region I was desperate to see,     1     its remoteness and my inability to go delayed my journey. Last summer, my brother and I finally decided to take the trip.

We set off at the Guangzhou train station and three days later, we arrived in Lhasa. The trip certainly took a while; however, we     2     (reward) with the most beautiful views and made friends along the way, all at a     3     (low) cost than flying.

On May 15th, China landed its Mars probe,Tianwen-1, on the red planet,     1     (mark) another contribution to humanity's exploration of the universe. Mars     2     (capture) humanity's collective imagination for generations. The successful landing of Tianwen-1 in Utopia Planitia (乌托邦平原) is     3     stepping stone to future missions.

Inside the greenhouses of a modern agricultural base in Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, grow hydroponic vegetables,     1     （range）from ordinary ones to varieties rarely seen on the market. Inside the pools seven species of fish are raised, living with the vegetables     2    （harmony）.

“Fish farming without the need to change the water and growing vegetables without the need to fertilize. This is the fish-vegetable symbiosis system." said Fung Leung, the     3     (found) of the project. "All the vegetables are free of pesticide residues, because once pesticides and fertilizers     4     (apply), the fish will die.”

Since starting their business in Jiangmen, Leung     5     (witness) the development that has taken place in the city and also in the Greater Bay Area. "Better transportation and     6    frequent exchanges between the mainland and Hong Kong have also helped us reduce transport costs,”   he said.

In 2019 he established a second project in Jiangmen, which covers     7     area of 26.67 hectares and is capable of producing 8,800 tons of vegetables every year for Hong Kong.

“Food safety is what people are most     8     (concern) about in their pursuit of quality life. Local agriculture in Hong Kong is unable to satisfy the city’s demand for such products in terms of scale and quality. Vegetables     9     (supply) to Hong Kong from the mainland must meet very high standards throughout the whole process of production and processing," said Leung. According to him, it is promising business opportunities such as these     10     have convinced him to focus on growing organic vegetables in the long term.
