文章大意:这是一篇说明文。介绍了一些防止人们在体育运动中受伤的策略。

1 . Playing sports is a lot of fun. Getting hurt is not.    1

Wear protective equipment.

The equipment you wear depends on the sport you play. Helmets (头盔) are the most common protective equipment. They protect your head while you’re playing football, baseball, softball, and so on.

Warm up.

2     Doing some stretches (伸展) can get you prepared to hit the field. By warming up, you get yourself ready to play. Practicing a sport helps keep you safe, too.

Know the rules of the games.

Traffic lights help prevent crashes between many cars that run on the road together. This works because drivers know the rules and follow them—at least most of the time.    3     When players know the rules of the game, fewer injuries happen. For example, you know that in soccer you can’t come from behind, crash into a player’s legs, or steal the ball. It’s legal and safer to go after the ball rather than the player.

    4

This is a really important one. If you love sports, you may want to get back in the games, even after an injury. But playing when you’re hurt is a bad idea.    5

Now you know how to prevent sports injuries. If you follow these rules, you can stay safer while you are playing sports.

A.Don’t play when you’re injured.
B.Don’t do too much exercise.
C.It’s the same with sports.
D.It can lead to an even worse injury.
E.It’s not a good idea to just go to the field and start playing.
F.You and the other players know what to expect from each other.
G.Take these steps to prevent injuries so you can stay in the game.

2 . A teenager needs to have a sense of independence in their life to feel secure (安全的). To some teenagers independence means a lot to them, and I think that some parents don’t allow their teenagers enough independence.

Independence has something to do with freedom. Some kids are not allowed to go anywhere alone, and the only thing their schedule includes is going to school, coming home, going to sleep, and repeating the process the next day. Parents tend to be afraid that their kids can get hurt if they go outside into the world. But if parents control their kids too much, they may never learn to live on their own. The best way for a teenager to learn lesson is through experience. I think it is beneficial for teenagers to have freedom.

Teenagers’ lack of freedom can also stop them from having good friendship at school. Some might say this is a good thing, because it helps them focus more on their school work. I argue that this can only discourage them not to do their school work. Some parents do not allow their children to be around their friends outside the school, thinking that this will get them into trouble. But I don’t think so. Instead, isn’t this a good reason for parents to get their children a cellphone? Cellphones allow teenagers to stay in touch with their parents, and communicate with friends.

Privacy is another issue between parents and their teenagers. Teenagers tend to enjoy relaxation by themselves in their own room. This also gives them a sense of independence. It often annoys teenagers when their parents enter their room when they are not home. I know that my mom always goes in my room when I’m not home, and this has brought me to the point where I have asked many times to get a lock on my door.

1. What is the main idea of the second paragraph?
A.It benefits teenagers to have freedom.B.Some parents allow their kids no freedom.
C.Kids know how to live independently.D.Kids have a dull routine every day
2. In the opinion of the author, ________ .
A.it is unnecessary for a kid to have a cellphone
B.kids should focus on the school work
C.parents should make it easy for kids to communicate with their friends
D.good friendships between kids harm their school work
3. How do teenagers usually feel when their parents enter their rooms in their absence?
A.AngryB.LuckyC.DisappointedD.Calm
4. The author hopes to have her door locked in order to________.
A.keep her father from reading her dairyB.stop thieves from going in
C.protect herself from any harmD.prevent her mother entering her room

4 . About ten men in every hundred suffer from color blindness in some way. Women are luckier; only about one in two hundred is affected in this matter. Perhaps, after all, it is safer to be driven by a woman!

There are different forms of color blindness. In some cases a man may not be able to see deep red. He may think that red, orange and yellow are all shadows of green. Sometimes a person cannot tell the difference between blue and green. In rare cases an unlucky man may see everything in shades of green - a strange world indeed.

Color blindness in human beings is a strange thing to explain. In a single eye there are millions of very small things called “cones”. These help us to see in a bright light and to tell difference between colors. There are also millions of “rods”, but these are used for seeing when it is near dark. They show us shape but no color.

Some insects have favorite colors. Mosquitoes prefer blue to yellow. A red light will not attract insects, but a blue lamp will. In a similar way human beings also have favorite colors. Yet we are lucky. With the aid of the cones in our eyes we can see many beautiful colors by day, and with the aid of the rods we can see shapes at night. One day we may even learn more about the invisible colors around us.

1. The passage is mainly about _________.
A.color and its surprising effects.
B.women being luckier than men
C.danger caused by color blindness
D.some information on color blindness
2. Why do some people say it is safer to be driven by women?
A.Women are more careful.
B.There are fewer color-blind women
C.Women are fonder of driving than men.
D.Women are weaker but quicker in thinking.
3. Which of the statements about the color- blind is true?
A.Neither men nor women can see deep red.
B.All of them see everything in shades of green.
C.None of them can tell the difference between blue and green.
D.Not all of them have the same problem in recognizing color.
4. We can attract and kill mosquitoes by using a ________.
A.red lightB.yellow light
C.blue lightD.green light

After watching the program Where Are We Going, Dad? I can’t help think of my parents. There’re also many unforgettable memory between us. One Sunday ten years before, my dad and I went camping. He prepared all the equipment and taught me how to put up a tent, that for a boy of seven wasn’t easy. He guided me patient and thanked me for my work, making me to feel I was very helpful. That was what my pride and confidence came. As the program told us, parents play important role in the growth of children. I’m grateful to my parents for their devotion of accompanying me.
