On thanksgiving morning I got up early to run in a race . It was just above freezing. So every runner was jumping around trying to stay warmly.

Yesterday, Tom and I were walking down the street when we saw the old man fall off his bike. I suggested we carried the old man to hospital, and Tom did not agree. My favorite proverb is “A friend in need is a friend indeed.” It mean that true friends always come to you when you’re in trouble. Last term, my father met with a traffic accident, but his right leg got injured seriously. Consequently, he received the operation and I had to look after him in the hospital. Learned about this, Li Lei was offered to take care of my father without hesitation. He also helped me make up for my lessons. Thank to his help and inspiration, I went through the difficulty period and regained confidence. However, a true friend always spares no effort help you when you are in trouble. We all should try to make so good friends.

My four-year-old son ran down the stairs very excitedly in Christmas morning and went straight for the gifts under the tree. My soccer coach retired in last week．I wanted to do anything special for him at his retirement party．My mum makes the better biscuits in the world，so I decide to ask her for help．Mum taught me some basic step of baking．I insisted on doing most of the baking myself. I thought the biscuits were really well．My only mistake was that I dropped some on the floor after I was packing them up．
At a party, my coach, with a biscuit in his mouth, asked surprisingly who made them and joked,“I might have to retire again next year just get some more of these biscuits.”

When an English traveler, who spent a few week in Sweden, was about to return to home, he found he had only enough money left to get a ticket to England. Last Sunday I went to Beijing National Stadium. At gate I happened to meet some young America tourists. I greeted to them in English and then we began to chat. From the chat I learned that they were college students traveling in Beijing but most of them were fond of Chinese culture. They were busy taking pictures and they seem to be much impressed by the changes which had been taken place in the past few years. After come out of the Stadium, we went to the Water Cube and had a good time there. We exchanged our email address so that we could keep touch with each other later. They thanked us again and again. I was very glad to have the chance to practise my oral English.
