Yesterday, I went to an amazing Chinese art festival. There were different stands artists could demonstrate their skills and teach the visitors! It was definite an exciting experience. What caught our attention first was a 18th-century qinghua bowl. It vividly illustrated two dragons’ playing with a ball, which were typical of Chinese porcelain. Then I try some paper cutting, namely, making images out of papers. It was difficult, but a lot of fun! With the help of an artist, and I managed to make one in the shape of a fish. Another man seating next to him showed me how seal cutting worked. He made one for me with my name on Chinese — pretty awesome!

This winter holiday, my classmates and I played the game called drum topping. Eight students tried to control a drum by pulling strings attaching to it and bounce a ball on top of them at the same time. With the ball bouncing on the drum, our feelings rose and fell down with eagerness. It was much tough than expected as it called for quick reaction and perfect cooperation. Everyone was clumsy at first, and we gradually got the trick of determining the ball’s drop locations and what to control the ball. We have fun with the game. To make our life colorful, my classmates and I took part in a picking activity on a farm lie in the suburb of our city on last Sunday. When we arrived, we were all deep attracted by that we saw. Last Friday, our grade held a fun sports meeting, that aim was to relieve us senior three students from pressure. I, as well as my best friend, were asked to compete in the three-legged race.
The three-legged race required effective cooperation among teammates. Thus, during the days before the competition, we practised the game after the school.
Then came the big days. With my left foot and my friend’s right foot tying together, we set out fast as soon as our PE teacher blown his whistle. The playground was filled with our schoolmates cheers. A few minutes later, we tried hardly and crossed the finishing line quickly. By getting involved in the game, not only we get a little leisure from our busy school life but also we got the joy of working together with others.

Last summer, my family took short trip to the countryside. After drive for two hours, we arrived at a mountain lake. The scenery is breathtaking. We hiked, picnicked or swam in the lake. At night, we roasted beef in the starlight. The next day they visited a village, ate at a farmhouse and picking fruits. Though short, it was relaxed. I enjoyed nature and being with family. The sun finally comes out after a whole week of rainy days. How fine weather it was! My friend, Wei Hua, and I was very happy. We agreed play basketball together in the nearby stadium. We went there by bike, with our basketball is tied on Wei Hua’s bike. On our way, we kept sing and telling stories. However, we both felt so exciting that we didn’t notice the ball suddenly fall off. Last Sunday, my parents and me went to the countryside, which we had a great time together. To make it a green journey, we all agree to cycle there. With everything ready, we set out. Last weekend, all the students in my class go camping in the woods near our town. Several of our teachers joined us, too.
