3 . Camping isn’t for everyone. That much is true.     1     Below we address some of the concerns you might have about going camping to help you decide if it is right for you.

You don’t have to be an “outdoors person” to enjoy camping.     2     You don’t need to be an outdoors type to appreciate the fun of being in the countryside and breathing fresh air. There are many different ways to camp and things to do when camping. You can choose what suits you. And you might be surprised by how incredibly comfortable a tent can be!

    3     Even though there is so much awesome camping gear (装备) on the market, all you really need to get started is a tent, something to sleep on and in, something to cook on and a few utensils (器皿). Most of these can be brought from home.

    4     These days camping gear and equipment is advanced and there is no reason why you can’t be very comfortable, clean and have all your essentials on hand when camping. Unless you want to rough it, which is still easy too. There are campsites available which offer as many or as few facilities as you like, including Wi-Fi, restaurants and hot showers.

Camping is not boring. There is an absolute ton of things to do while camping. Getting active, exploring the landscape, visiting local towns and attractions, playing games and sports or just chilling out with a good book.     5    

4 . Do you want something to have fun? Well, look at a list of some activities.

As the first exhibition in the new space of Fangyuan Art Museum, with the theme of flowers, it showcases many new works by artist Yan Ping. This exhibition aims to express the beauty of the power of life, and to discover the beauty that we have overlooked in the world.

Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman will bring his big rubber(橡胶) duck to the Today Art Museum in Beijing, inviting you to participate in this nearly three month party. This exhibition is Hofman’s first large-scale solo exhibition in China. More than 25 new works will be displayed, presenting the landmark of Hofman’s more than 20 years of artistic career.

Contemporary ink artist Tan Jun will hold his solo exhibition “Guansha Ridge” at Beijing Soka Art. In this exhibition, there will be 8 collections of photography and painting, adding a new experience to the viewer’s way of viewing and feeling the mysterious poetic world.

7 . What is forest bathing? This Japanese practice, known in Japan as shinrin yoku, is a process of relaxation. The simple method of being calm and quiet in the woods, observing nature around you while breathing deeply can help both adults and children relieve stress and boost health and well being in a natural way.     1    

Find a spot. Depending where you are, find a good source of nature. One doesn’t need to journey deep into a forest for these benefits. Just look for any green area.     2     Forests with conifers (针叶树) are thought to be particularly beneficial. For people who don’t have access to a forest, using essential tree oils in your home can provide benefits, too.

Engage all your senses. Let nature enter through your ears, eyes, nose, mouth, hands, and feet.     3     Drink in the flavor of the forest and release your sense of joy and calm.

Don’t hurry. Slow walking is recommended for beginners. And it’s good to spend as much time as possible. You’ll notice positive effects after twenty minutes, but a longer visit, ideally four hours, is better.

    4     Try doing yoga in the woods, or Tai Chi. Take a picnic. Write a poem. Study plants. You can take an adventure alone, or with a companion.

Appreciate the silence.     5     If you’re lucky, you’ll find a wooded area that’s free from human-produced sound. Spend a few quiet moments with a favorite tree. If nothing else, when we connect with nature we are reminded that we are part of a larger whole. And that can lead us to be less selfish and to think more of others.

9 . What do you do when you have a few minutes to spare? If you’re like many people, you seize the opportunity to do puzzles on your phone.     1     Usually, they can be divided into certain types and here are four of the most common.

Word puzzles

One of the most popular word puzzles — the crossword — has been around for nearly 110 years. Crosswords can be done with paper and pencil or online. Sometimes word puzzles involve finding new words within a large group of letters. This type of word puzzle is called a word search. Word puzzles usually test your vocabulary.     2    

Mechanical puzzles

Mechanical puzzles have pieces that must be arranged in some way. The world’s best-selling puzzle, the Rubik’s Cube, is a mechanical puzzle. As of 2020, over 450 million Rubik’s Cubes had been sold.

Jigsaw puzzles also fall into this type.     3     Jigsaw puzzles have from two to over 550,000 pieces — the largest one on record.

Logic puzzles

    4     Mine Finder is an example of logic puzzles. In Mine Finder players must think clearly to determine where the mines are hidden in a grid(方格).

Math puzzles

Math puzzles involve numbers, words or objects and the use of math. Surprisingly, the ever–popular Candy Crush is classified as a math puzzle.     5    

There are many other kinds of puzzles. But no matter which you prefer, puzzles are a great way to spend your time.
