In order to help us students fully appreciate the beauty of China, our school hold a “Charming China” micro-video contest last weekend.

Lasted for three hours, the event proved the huge hit. More than two hundred video were submitted and varieties of eye-catching elements were included, ranging from local cultural activities like tea-drinking and lion dances splendid local attractions. More impressive works, that displayed the great changes that had been taken place in China, focused on the combination of traditional lifestyles and modern urban development.

In order to carry forward the Lei Feng spirit, a series of activities was held by our School Student Union with a 60^th “Lei Feng Day” approaching. Our school held a flag-raising ceremony theme “Learn from Comrade Lei Feng” on Monday. Our headmaster appealed to us students strong to learn from Lei Feng, which devoted his spare time to helping the needy. After that, the song called on people to learn from Lei Feng was sung by every class. Every students did a good deed. Some did some cleaning in the park. Last Sunday witnessed a friendly basketball game between students and teachers in our school with the aim of fueling students’ passion for sports as well as release their overwhelming pressure. Bathing in sunshine, players from Grade 3 competed with their teachers in the basketball court surrounded by the rest of the students, who were watching excited. Both teams were playing at their best in high spirit. Although the teachers took the lead in a game at first, the students did not lose their heart and tried to catch up with their opponents. The game was filled in great excitement and passion, and ends in a draw of 2:2. Not only the exciting game relieve the students’ intense stress, and their relationship with the teachers was also strengthened.

Last week, our school holds a Chinese classical music festival in the concert hall to promote Chinese traditional culture. All the students took part in of it.

During the festival, classics played by Chinese classical instrument, such as erhu and Chinese zither, were amazed. Among them, High Mountain or Flowing Water drew the most attention. Besides, that interested the students most was that an opportunity was providing to learn these instruments from some experts.

Many senior high school students have children’s book that they no longer need. Therefore, my school organize a book drive, with the purpose of donate books to disadvantaged families with young children last weekend. The activity lasted for a week and students in mine school were encouraged collect gently used children’s books from family members, friends and neighbors. I, along with other volunteers, were responsible for checking the donated books and packing them. In order to perform the task well, I had learned what to pack things from my father in the advance. Though I was tiring at the end of the week, I was happy that I got involved in doing something that is benefit to the community.

Nowadays, many students in our school don’t have enough time do sports. Most of our time is spent on study, which causes some health problem. Thus, our school is held Sunshine Sports activities to improve our physical but mental health. The activities are conducted on every afternoon. We are free to do however we like. For the purpose of reduced stress, a series of activities were held in the school playground in Mental Health Day this year. Students from three grade got involved in the activities actively. Among these activities, a lecture giving by a psychological professor provided us with professional guidance, which helped us understand when to deal with it in life and study. Beside, a debate on Stress, Motivation or Depression were conducted among students. These activities turned out very successfully. Last month, our school launched a campaign which intention was to promote environmental protection. The campaign lasted for one week. Firstly, there is a photo display to show the seriously pollution caused by human activities. Secondly, there was a lecture on many small step that we could take in our daily life to protect environment. For example, taking the bus or use the bike-sharing system would be a good way.
