2 . 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

I was lacking in everything needed to start a new friendship.

My parents moved to the town when they decided to look for new jobs but they didn’t realize I was really hurt when I said goodbye to my old friends. It felt awful to be a new student in the school and when my classmates were chatting, what I could do was to be caught up in my thoughts watching the clouds outside the window. I was not good at math or history; nor was I good at drawing or dancing. I was shy and timid (胆小的). I had a few friends back at my hometown and it seemed that they were the only ones who I could be friends with for my whole life. I felt I had achieved a point of saturation (饱和) with regard to having friends and I could make no further addition to my friends list. I was ashamed of myself, so I believed I deserved (应受) no notice from others until Emily came to my world.

Emily was fearless, outspoken and easy to go. She was everything I was not and I was too shy to come out of my shell. I met Emily in school almost every day and ye I never talked to her. We were in the same class but we were like poles apart. How I wished I could be like her or at least be a friend of hers!

It was another ordinary day. I was on the school bus back home, when I got up to get down the bus, my schoolbag was stuck in the armrest (扶手). I didn’t notice it and stood up with all my strength. Unfortunately, my schoolbag was torn apart and all the contents fell on the ground. I knelt down to pick them up. Suddenly, I saw a hand passing me some of the books.

注意:1.续写词数应为100左右;
2.请按如下格式作答。

I looked up and found it was Emily who was helping me.

文章大意:本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了一些保持牢固且健康的友谊的规则。

3 . Studies continue to show how important strong friendships are to our overall health. Here’re the rules you are supposed to know to keep strong and healthy friendships.

1     Everyone needs a support network. When you consider yourself the friend of another, you’re implicitly offering to be a part of his or her support network. What’s more, without trust and honesty, there is no authenticity (真实性) to the friendship.

Be all ears to your friends. Too often, we only “half hear” what others are telling us, and have a hard time making space for caring about others’ conditions.     2     If we don’t truly know what our friends need or can’t clearly express how we feel or what we need, friendships won’t survive or continue.

Throw away the judgment.     3     Good friends are able to realize that everyone is human. Friends don’t have to necessarily “like” or “approve” of their friends’ choices, but good friends will accept their friends’ choices no matter what.

Forgive (原谅) where you can — and seek forgiveness when you make a mess of something. No one promises to bring perfection to a relationship, so being willing to accept and forgive the weaknesses of others makes you more likely to build a lasting friendship.     4

Respect your friends and their boundaries. Everyone has a right to set up personal boundaries to feel safe and respected. Some friends may have a difficult time letting people get close to them for fear of being hurt.     5     Give them the space they need to feel comfortable, and let the relationship deepen over time.

A.Don’t crowd your friends.
B.Offer them what they need.
C.Support, trust, and honesty are givens.
D.But friendships don’t need to be perfect.
E.True friends don’t judge each other’s choices.
F.However, friendships require attention and care.
G.It’s also important that we’re able to recognize when we make mistakes.

6 . How to mend a broken friendship? It may be hard, but fixing a broken friendship will make it even stronger than before. Here are some tips that will be useful.

Be the one to reach out before the other.

1     Le t it be you this time. It will show them that you want to be friends again, and you’re serious about coping with things. Think about how you can reach them. Depending on the person and the severity of your argument, you may need to try a few different ways to get in touch.

    2

If your friend refuses to see or speak with you, or visiting them in person isn’t an option, you may want to just back off for a while. Your friend wants space and that should be respected. Use the time to reflect on the situation and prepare what you want to say. Don’t push your friend if it’s clear they want space. It will only upset them and make them frustrated with you.

Talk about the problem honestly and openly.

Explaining what you feel is the problem and be honest about it. Then ask them to do the same. Let them talk for as long as they need to.     3     This way you both get to tell your side of the story and get everything out on the table.

Apologize to them and accept their apology.

Even if you didn’t do anything and you believe the situation is their fault, opening with an apology sets the tone. You could say “I’m really sorry things have gotten to this point. I want things to be better between us.” If you did wrong them in some way, apologize to them sincerely.     4

Avoid restarting an argument.

It’s important that you don’t say or do anything hurtful during this conversation.     5     So do your best to keep things peaceful. If things get heated, don’t allow them to become worse.

A.Let go of your anger or frustration.
B.Respect your friend’s need for space.
C.Really listen and don’t interrupt them.
D.If they apologize to you, accept their apology.
E.Come up with a plan for rebuilding the friendship.
F.Argument will only further damage the friendship and make things worse.
G.If you aren’t talking to each other, someone will have to make the first move.

7 . 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

Birthdays were a huge deal at my workplace. Co-workers went above and beyond to shower the person of honor with food, decorations, affirmations, love and, yes, embarrassment on their special day. As one who preferred to go unnoticed and felt embarrassed at being the center of attention, I was horrified to walk in on my birthday to see my desk decorated with glittery streamers, and a hot pink sash (饰带) with the words, “Kneel! I’m the Birthday Princess”. I was forced to wear for the duration of the day.

Although embarrassed by the display, I felt extremely loved. I thoroughly enjoyed the pleasant flowers and delicious chocolate cake my co-workers gave me.

Several months after my birthday celebration, our office welcomed Laura, a new member, to the team. Hired as our office manager’s assistant, Laura was also tasked with establishing a human resources department. Possessing an ambitious vision and receiving trust from our manager, she immediately made major changes — which were not well received. Gradually, Laura became the centre of gossip (闲言碎语).

When Laura’s spring birthday neared, it was evident that no one wanted to celebrate. I understood why no one wanted to go all-out in celebrating Laura’s birthday, but it bothered me nevertheless. As an extremely shy and introverted (内向的) individual, being left out or ignored was nothing foreign to me, and it pained me to think of the deliberate effort to ignore her birthday. Although she drove me crazy, too, I knew her time in our office had not been easy.

Stopping by our local grocery store, I selected some rosy-pink tulips and a birthday card in which I wrote a heartfelt note highlighting some of Laura’s qualities I admired, such as her ambitious spirit, creativity, and strong inner drive. Arriving an hour early to work the morning of her birthday, I transformed her corner of the office just like what my co-workers did for my birthday.

文章大意:这是一篇议论文。作者认为最适合交朋友的人是那些直率的人,并给出了几点理由。

10 . In your circle of friends, do you know someone who does not bother to sugarcoat (粉饰) the bitter truth? Someone who is brave enough to share her opinions and insights, even if his idea contradicts with others?     1    . Professionals who are experts in the field of psychology believe that the best kind of people to be friends with are those who are blunt (直言的)! Here are the reasons why.

2    . Blunt people will never speak to content your feelings. If you ask for their opinion, you will get their honest opinion. Whether it is about choosing a dress for your first interview, or about their first impression of your partner, a blunt friend will tell you the truth as it is.     3    . However, keep in mind that no true friend would like their loved ones to be made fun of by others.

Blunt people are the kind of people you would like to keep company, Perhaps, in the long run, you might learn to be as fearless and courageous as they are!

They know how to respect your views. They are not afraid to speak their mind out but it does not mean that they won’t respect yours.     5    . They simply want to give you a piece of their mind as a sort of advice before you make your final decision. They know that at the end of the day, your decision is still yours to make.

A.They tell you the honest truth
B.They will not keep you guessing
C.If yes, then hang on to your friendship
D.A blunt person only shares his thoughts and stops with that
E.However, in reality, not all people can be honest with you all the time
F.You might think that they are doing this because they are not one of your supporters
G.Experts in the field of psychology think that blunt people are the ones of the bravest people
