Recently, China set up The Seniors University of China (SUC), a national university for older people. SUC,    1    provides students with skill training, cultural inheritance education, social services,    2    (science) research and international exchanges, offers both online and offline teaching activities for older people nationwide.

Elderly people in China will have the opportunity    3    (continue) their education at a national-level university from the 2023 spring semester and onwards.

The    4    (establish) of SUC is a concrete measure to address the issue of the aging population in China and an important milestone in the development of education for    5    elderly, said China’s Minister of Education Huaijinpeng at the inauguration (成立) ceremony.

The ageing of China s population is becoming increasing evident, with the number of people aged 60 or above    6    (expect) to reach 300 million by 2025.

Back in 2000, China’s aging population reached 7% of its total population, making it    7    (official) an aging society. Ever since then, China    8    (introduce) a series of measures to broaden senior citizens’ access    9    education.
