文章大意:本文是一篇新闻报道。文章讲述了中国东方航空公司MU5735 航班坠毁情况以及事后处置措施。

1 . Searchers announced the recovery of one of the two black boxes, and human tissue (组织) debris from the crash site of China Eastern Airlines flight MU5735 on Wednesday night, three days after the Boeing 737-800 nosedived from cruising altitude and crashed into a forested hillside.

One of the black boxes found on Wednesday has been identified as the cockpit voice recorder (驾驶舱话音记录器). The black box’s recorder looks badly damaged from the outside, but its storage unit looks relatively intact. It has been sent to a professional civil aviation agency in Beijing for decoding, and hopefully the data stored inside will provide evidence for the accident investigation and help produce a credible accident analysis report. The search teams are going all out to find the other black box with professional tools.

Officials also released more information concerning the crash. The weather on the route of MU5735 was suitable for flying and there was no hazardous weather when the plane crashed. The communication connection between the plane and the ground was normal from the plane’s departure until its sudden fall in altitude. The plane started service in June 2015 and it had been maintained under strict standards of technical plans and in normal conditions. Before departure, the aircraft met the requirements for flying. Pilots on board were all in good health and their flying certificates were within the validity period.

Beijing EAPs Consulting, a firm which provided a free psychological services hotline immediately after the crash, told Global Times that it has answered many phone calls asking for assistance. The phone calls are from families, friends and colleagues of people on board, who are in a difficult time. Some pilots and flight attendants called in because they feel unsafe and uncertain about their careers. There are also people who want to know how to comfort their acquaintances that had loved ones on the plane. Mental support and psychological services in the first 24 to 72 hours after a tragedy is crucial for people involved to recover from the tragedy and minimize the trauma. 文章大意:本文是说明文。讲述了泰坦尼克号沉没的历史故事。
4 . 阅读下面短文,在空白处填入 1 个适当的单词或括号内单词的正确形式。

The Titanic was the largest and     1    (advance) passenger ship of its day. It was considered unsinkable. But on 14th April 1912, on     2    (it) maiden voyage (首航) from England to New York, the ship     3    (strike) an iceberg in the North Atlantic and sank shortly after midnight. Of the 2,223 people on board, 1,517 drowned.

So why did so many people die in the tragedy? Firstly, the Titanic’s owners fitted the ship     4     only 20 lifeboats. They believed any more would spoil the     5    (appear) of the ship. But this meant there were only enough lifeboats for 1,178 passengers. Secondly, while     6    (load) the lifeboats, the crew observed the “women and children first” rule. This was     7    old custom that said women and children should be saved before men. Because at first men weren’t allowed in the lifeboats, many boats were lowered only half full.     8    the lifeboats had been full, another 500 people might have been saved. In the end, 74% of women passengers survived, but only 20% of men. And many of the men     9    survived were branded as cowards (懦夫) when they got home.

The wreck (残骸) of the Titanic     10    (find) in 1985. It lies about four kilometres below the surface of the water at the bottom of the ocean.

7 . Ukraine has reported that forest fires have broken out near the site of the world’s worst nuclear accident.

The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant (CNPP) is about 100 kilometers away from Kyiv, Ukraine. In 1986, the CNPP had the worst nuclear accident in history. A series (系列) of mistakes and accidents caused an explosion and a huge fire, which burned for nine days. As a result of the disaster, entire cities had to be cleared. Over 100, 000 people had to leave their homes forever. A 2, 600-square-kilometer area around the CNPP was set apart as the “Chernobyl Exclusion Zone” to keep people away from the radioactive pollution.

Much of the land in the Zone is forest and grassland. Radioactivity breaks down slowly over time, so the radiation has dropped some by now. The radioactive pollution has become part of the plants and the dirt in the area. But on April 4, fires broke out in the Zone, which can give off the radioactive pollution back into the air. Once the pollution is in the air, it can be spread by the wind. Over the last 10 days, hundreds of fire fighters have been struggling against the flames. One fire came close to the CNPP. Keeping fires away from the plant is important because dangerous and poisonous material is still stored there.

Fighting the fire was much more challenging than normal because of the radiation dangers. In some places, fire fighters dug ditches (壕沟) to stop the fire from spreading, however, most of their efforts went into pouring water from the air since they couldn’t do the same in most areas.

Ukraine’s government says that there are still some small grass fires, but there are no major open fires still burning. The government says radiation levels in the air in Kyiv and nearby areas are normal.

1. Why does the author mention the CNPP?
A.It has contributed to the recent fires.
B.The recent fires broke out next to it.
C.The fires will destroy its nearby forest.
D.It can be used to fight against the fires.
2. Compared with regular ones, the forest fires in the Zone ________.
A.are more dangerousB.are more frequent
C.spread more quicklyD.last longer
3. What was the firefighters’main job for the forest fires?
A.Preventing poisonous materials escaping.
B.Ditching to stop the fires spreading.
C.Dropping water to put out the fires.
D.Keeping people away from the CNPP.
4. How is the outcome of firefighters’ struggling against the fire?
A.It’s unclear.B.It’s unexpected.
C.It’s discouraging.D.It’s effective.
