2 . It was one day in June 2018. After soccer practice that day, 12 members of a Thai soccer team and their coach decided to _________ the nearby Tham Luang cave. It is one of Thailand’s longest caves.

The boys, aged 11 to 16 and their coach, 25, walked in the waters and then _________ the cave. At first they were excited. _________, as they were in the cave, a _________ came. Soon, a flash flood came and more and more water got into the cave system. They pushed _________ in, eventually making their way to a _________ platform, 4 kilometers into the cave system.

The flood _________ the cave system with water, trapping the boys for 18 days. For the first nine days, they had no _________, and relied on drip-ping stalactites(钟乳石)for water. Thai Navy Seals entered the cave to help and stayed with the boys as __________ planned how to take them out __________. Over the course of a three-day mission, divers helped take out each player and their coach.

The journey to the surface required each boy to __________ a full--face diving mask, be tethered(栓住)between two divers, and __________ for hours through tums and tight squeezes.
