I’ve lived in a lorry (卡车) with my younger sister Sinita and my parents for over 200 days now! We’re traveling around Africa. The lorry is like a house on wheels (车轮), but it has less space. We have everything we need for our trip. It’s not very fast. That’s OK—we have lots of time.

Our school books are the same as the ones back home. My mom gives us lessons, and then sends our work to teachers on the Internet. My favorite way of learning, however, is by going on special trips that my parents plan. We’ve seen so many amazing places, people and animals.

In September, we went camping in the Kalahari desert (沙漠). We learned lots about the night sky. The Kalahari’s not like other deserts because it gets such a lot of rain—some parts of it look really green.

In November, we went on a wheel-watching tour in South Africa and saw six whales. We said hello to them. One even swam under our boat. That was really thrilling. I knew whales are big, but I couldn’t believe how large they really are.

In December, we drove to Boulders Beach in South Africa. There are thousands of African penguin (企鹅) there. These amazing black and white birds can swim, but cannot fly. Many of the visitors enjoyed seeing their funny walk, but I was especially interested in how clever they were at keeping their babies safe.

A fish and chip restaurant in North Yorkshire is famous now. Many Chinese tourists go there for dinner every day.

The restaurant is on a street called A64. It is a little far from York, about six miles away. The clerks in the restaurant wonder why there are Chinese tourists enjoying their meals. It is said that more than 100 Chinese tourists come to dinner every week.

The clerks are busy, but they are very happy. They say the Chinese tourists are very friendly. They are very glad to serve the special customers. They reserve seats for Chinese tourists. The owner of the restaurant translates the menu name from English into Chinese so that Chinese tourists could understand it. They also have a website and an information App for Chinese tourists so that they can order the food on the Internet or on their phones.

As for the restaurant, Chinese tourists say the food is delicious and the prices are OK.
