When I was in Chengdu, I saw teahouses everywhere on the streets. There is a saying, “China has the best teahouses in the world and the best teahouses are in Chengdu in China.”

The service in the teahouses makes you satisfied（满意的）. When you go into a teahouse, the waiters or waitresses（女服务员）greet you with smiles on their faces and with teapots and cups in their hands. After you sit down, they set the cups on the table and pour the tea into the cups.

People who go to the teahouses are not really thirsty. They pay 20 yuan for a cup of tea in a teahouse and will sit there all day long to chat（聊天）with each other. These days, more and more people go to teahouses for business（生意） talks. Some teahouses also have performances, such as story-telling and Sichuan Opera.

Many boys and girls love to watch TV. They spend many hours a day in front of the TV sets. But many parents let their children watch TV only in special time.

TV shows are like books or movies. There are many kinds of TV shows, such as sitcoms, soap operas, sports shows, fashion shows, etc. Children can learn good things and bad things from them. Some shows help children to know the news all over the world. Children don’t have to go to the zoo to see animals. Boys and girls can see sitcoms, sports shows and game shows at home. Some shows teach children how to cook or how to use tools.

Many boys and girls think it is fun to watch TV, but it is also fun to read books, to play games or to visit friends.

Last month we asked our students about their free time activities. Our questions were about exercise, use of the Internet and watching TV. Here are the results.

We found that only fifteen percent of our students exercise every day. Forty-five percent exercise four to six times a week. Twenty percent exercise only one to three times a week. And twenty percent do not exercise at all!

We all know that many students often go online, but we were surprised that ninety percent of them use the Internet every day. The other ten percent use it at least three or four times a week. Most students use it for fun and not for homework.

The answers to our questions about watching television were also interesting. Only two percent of the students watch TV one to three times a week. Thirteen percent watch TV four to six times week. And eighty-five percent watch TV everyday! Although many students like to watch sports, game shows are the most popular.

It is good to relax by using the Internet or watching game shows, but we think the best way to relax is through exercise. It is healthy for the mind and the body. Exercise such as playing sports is fun, and you can spend time with your friends and family as you play together. And remember, “Old habits die hard.” So start exercising before it’s too late!

A Chinese “diplomat (外交宫)” came back to China from the United States in 2017. Many US people were at the airport and said goodbye to her. Who is the diplomat? She is a 3-year-old panda called Bao Bao.

Bao Bao was born at the National Zoo in Washington DC, US in 2013. Her parents are Tian Tian and Mei Xiang. China sent them to the US in 2000. “We have watched Bao Bao grow up during the past three years,” said Dennis Kelly, the zoo director (园长). “We’re going to miss her so much.”

Why does Bao Bao have to come back to China? It’s because all the pandas born in foreign countries must come back to China before they turn 4. This is an agreement (协议) between China and other countries.

Bao Bao spent about 16 hours on the plane home. A zookeeper and a doctor stayed with her along the way. The zoo also put bamboo, apples, biscuits (饼干), potatoes, and water on the plane. Now, Bao Bao is happy at her new home in Chengdu, Sichuan province.
