文章大意:本文主要介绍了埃菲尔铁塔的相关内容。

The world-famous Eiffel Tower takes its name from French engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed (设计) and built it. In France, the Eiffel Tower is known as La Tour Eiffel or La dame de fer, which means “the Iron (铁) Lady”.

The Eiffel Tower is an iron tower that stands about 320 meters tall. To build the Eiffel Tower, hundreds of workers used more than 2 million rivets (铆钉) to join together more than 18,000 pieces of iron.

The Eiffel Tower was completed on March 31, 1889, and has since become the symbol of Paris and France, as well as one of the most famous structures in the world. At completion, it surpassed (超过) the Washington Monument as the tallest man-made structure in the world, until 1930 when the Chrysler Building was built in New York City. Today, the Eiffel Tower remains (仍然是) the tallest building in Paris.

The look of the Eiffel Tower is greatly loved by people today, but things were different when the design was first shown to the public. Many French artists thought that the design was ugly. The people of Paris considered it to be an eyesore and wanted to pull it down. However, Eiffel did not change a little. He believed that once it was completed, people in Paris and visitors around the world would love the tower. And the City of Paris planned to pull the tower down 20 years after it was completed. However, it turned out to be valuable as a radio communications tower, so it was allowed to stay.

文章大意:本文通过杭州动物园一头黑熊站立与人互动的视频,介绍太阳熊这种动物。
根据短文内容,判断正误(正确“T”,错误“F”),并将答案涂到答题卡的相应位置上。

A video of a black sun bear at the Hangzhou Zoo has become popular. In the video, the bear stands on its back legs and the fur (毛) on its behind is loose (松散的). Many people thought it was a person standing in a bear suit.

The zoo workers said that the sun bear was real. “If a person did wear a bear suit, they would be falling down within minutes because of the hot weather in summer. ”

Later, the zoo made a statement (声明) in the name of “Angela”, the sun bear. “Some people think I stand like a person. It seems you don’t understand me very well,” the statement said. “Let me say again to everyone that I am a sun bear—not a black bear, not a dog—a sun bear!”

Sun bears live in the forests of Southeast Asia. They are the smallest bears in the world. They are only about the size of a large dog. They can be 1.1-1.5 meters tall while standing on their back legs. They can weigh from 25 to 75 kilograms.

Sun bears are the least studied out of all the 8 kinds of bears. Maybe this is because they are shy and live far away from people. They are listed as vulnerable (易危的) by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Their numbers in the wild have fallen by 35% over the past thirty years, according to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). They need more protection.

11. The sun bear at the Hangzhou Zoo was a person standing in a bear suit.
12. Sun bears are the smallest bears in the world.
13. A sun bear is much taller than an adult man.
14. There are eight kinds of bears in the world.
15. From the last paragraph, we know sun bears need more protection.

文章大意:本文主要讲述了Donna老师让同学们把自己认为做不到的事情写在纸上埋起来的故事。为了让学生培养积极向上的人生态度,并学会自我管理和自我提升。
阅读短文,根据短文内容回答问题。

When some people meet difficulties, they always tell themselves “I can’t do it.” Is that right? After a special lesson, I find my answer.

One day, our teacher Donna asked us to finish a task, filling a piece of paper with something we couldn’t do. We were surprised at first but followed her. A student beside me was filling his page: “I can’t make a choice between staying at home and going out...”I also began writing sentences, describing things I couldn’t do. Donna also shared the things she had written: “I can’t get every student interested in reading...”

Then we were asked to fold the papers and place our “I Cans” papers into an empty box. Donna also added hers when all the students’ papers were collected. She took the box and led us to the corner of the playground. “Today we will bury (埋) our ‘I Can’ts’!” Donna said. Each had at least one page of “I Can’ts” in the box, so did our teacher. When the hole was about three feet deep, the digging ended.

Donna said that we shouldn’t repeat our “Can’ts” which sometimes stop us from moving forward (前进). A more useful way is trying. “I Can’ts” should give way to (向……让步) his brothers and sisters “I Cans”, “I Will” and “I’m Going to Do it Right Away.” Maybe someday, with our “I Cans”, we will make an even bigger mark on the world.
