Nowadays more and more children seem to get lost in a “sea of digital technology”. As they use digital technology too much, they are losing their ability to do the simple things. They can’t make toys themselves with hands or help mum cook dinner. And worst of all, they seem to be losing interests in communicating with others.

“I have talked with a number of teachers. They care about increasing numbers of young pupils who can play with computers or smart phones, but few or no skills to play with making things,” said a teacher, Colin Kinney. “Many pupils can’t communicate with other pupils but their parents talk proudly of their ability to use a computer or smart phone.”

Instead of playing with other children, more and more children are choosing to stay indoors and quietly play on a tablet on weekends and after school. How can a child grow up to be a very good artist if he doesn’t learn how to use a paintbrush and develop his painting skills? How can a child learn to making friends as he gets older if he doesn’t learn to communicate with others at a young age?

Digital technology can be used for good or bad. We can use stone to either break a window or build a house. We shouldn’t blame the children. We should help them make right choices. It is certainly necessary for children to know how to use digital technology in today’s world, but what is more important, we should encourage them to develop social abilities, which will do them good when they grow up.

Soon computers and other machines will be able to remember you by looking at your eyes! The program works because everyone’s eyes are different. So in the future you won’t have to remember a number when you want to use a machine or take money out of a bank (you’ll just have to look at the machine) and it will be able to tell who you are. The eye-recognition (眼睛识别) program is tested in shops and banks in the USA, Britain and Italy.

Scientists are working on other systems, such as knowing you from the shape of your face or hand or even your smell! And machines can already tell who you are from your voice or your fingerprint. But eye-recognition will replace other ways of finding out who you are. It is better, because your eyes don’t change as you get older, or get dirty like hands or fingers. And even twins have different eyes, so the program can be up to 94% correct, depending on how good the technology is. In Britain, it was found that 91% of people said that they liked the idea of eye-recognition.

Bullying(欺凌)has become a big problem in schools, which has caused serious attention of the society. To know what drives bullying will help to stop it. ①There are many factors that make a child involve in bullying. ②Parents are busy with their work, leaving their children alone with the grandparents. They don’ t get love or warmth from their alone with the grandparents. They don’t get love or warmth from their parents. Children who are bullied are easier to bully others. Some children bully others to get respect from other kids. Teenage girls bully to win attention or love from someone. Movies, video games also play a role in a child’s bullying action.

Students, teachers, schools and society should ③work jointly to stop bullying. As students, you should respect others and not make fun of their weaknesses. If you are bullied, you have the right to tell your parents or teachers about it first and ask them for help
