The dog went to the starting line of the race and then started to run with the runners. Ludivine took the seventh place among 165 runners in about an hour and a half. Later it got a medal as a prize because of its spirit of sports.

Once upon a time, there lived a wise man. He had a son who was very lazy and did nothing all day. The man was very worried. One day, he said to his son, “I want you to go and find some treasure. I have drawn a map to guide you. ”Then he handed his son a bag. Inside the bag were clothes, some food, a little money and the map.
The son set out on his long journey the next day. He had to travel across forests, rivers and mountains. Along the way, he met a lot of people. He was helped by some with food and by some with shelter (住所). There were also robbers (强盗) who tried to rob him. He saw changing landscapes (风景) and experienced different kinds of weather.
Finally, after a long year, he reached the location of the treasure. He spent two days looking and digging for the treasure, but found nothing.
He was disappointed and headed back to his home. On his way back, he experienced the same changing landscapes and seasons. Sometimes, he would stop to enjoy the beauty of nature. He also learned to hunt and make meals. He had to fix his own clothes and shelter himself. He was now able to tell time by the position of the sun and protect himself from wild animals. He met the same people who had helped him earlier. This time, he stayed and helped them in order to repay them.

The American newspaper has been around for about three hundred years. In 1721, the printer James Franklin, Benjamin's older brother, started the New England Courant, and that was what we might recognize(承认) today as a real newspaper. He filled his paper with stories of adventure, articles on art, on famous people, and on all sorts of political subjects.
Three centuries after the appearance of Franklin's Courant, few believe that newspapers in their present printed form will remain alive for long. Newspaper companies are losing advertisers (广告商), readers, market value and in some cases, their sense of purpose at a speed that would not have been imaginable just several years ago. The chief editor(主编) of the times said recently, "At places where they gather, editors ask one another, 'How are you?', as if they have just come out of the hospital or a lost law case." An article about the newspaper appeared on the website of the Guardian, under the headline "NOT DEAD YET."
Perhaps not, but the rise of the Internet, which has made the daily newspaper look slow and out of step with the world, has brought about a real sense of death. Some American newspapers have lost 42% of their market value in the past three years. The New York Times Company has seen its stock (股票) drop by 54% since the end of 2004, with much of the loss coming in the past year. A manager at Deutsche Bank suggested that stock-holders sell off their Times stock. The Washington Post Comply has prevented the trouble only by changing part of its business to education; its testing and test-preparation service now brings in at least half the company's income(收益).
71. According to Paragraph 1, which of the following is NOT true about the first real newspaper?A.It has a history of about 300 years. |
B.Its articles were written by famous people. |
C.It was called New England Courant. |
D.It was started by Benjamin's older brother. |
A.often accept readers' suggestions |
B.stop doing business with advertisers |
C.care a lot about each other's health |
