Anger is a kind of feeling. Many things can make you angry. When your teacher gives you too much homework, when your team loses an important game, when a friend borrows your favorite thing and then breaks it, you may get really angry.
Usually, your body will tell you when you are angry. For example, you breathe faster, your face turns red, and you may want to break something or hit(打) someone, but sometimes, you hide(隐藏) your anger. For example, you may hide it in your heart. The problem is that if you do this, you may get a headache or your stomach may hurt.
In fact, it’s not good to hide your anger, and it’s normal for you to get angry sometimes. But anger must be let out in the right way, without hurting others or yourself.
When you get angry, you can talk about it with other people. It’s helpful to talk about your anger with an adult, such as parents, a teacher, etc. When you talk about anger, those bad feelings can start to go away. Here are some other things you can do when you start to feel angry: talk to a good friend; count from 1 to 100; give someone a hug(拥抱); go for a bike ride; think about good things, etc.
Remember that how you act when you are angry can make everything better or worse. Don’t let your anger control you.

Like many great findings and inventions, the discovery of a caterpillar that eats plastic was made accidentally. Bertocchini, a biologist in Madrid, was cleaning her hobby beehives(蜂箱)and used a plastic shopping bag to collect the caterpillars which eat wax(蜂蜡). When she looked at the bag later, she was surprised to see it was full of holes. She decided to look into this plastic-eating wonders of caterpillars with her team.
They offered a plastic bag from a UK supermarket to a group of 100 wax-eating caterpillars. They began creating holes after 40 minutes; 12 hours later, they had reduced the mass of the bag by 92mg. While there have been other creatures that eat plastics, none of them have been able to do so better than these caterpillars.
"This discovery could be an important tool for helping to cut down the problem of plastic waste and save our oceans and rivers," Bertocchini said. "The caterpillar will be the starting point. Before using this finding in a practical way to solve plastic problems, we need to understand the chemical secrets behind the natural degradation(降解)of plastic. Something in the caterpillar一as well as the caterpillar itself—might play a role".

Laughing at yourself helps to tell the differences between “who you are” and “what you do”. Everyone possibly makes a mistake sometimes, and it doesn’t have to define(定义) you as a person. Laughing at yourself communicates to both you and the people around you that it’s okay.
Don’t worry about the sound of your laugh. Everyone’s laugh is different, if yours is polite and the source(来源) of legitimate(合理的) joy, you don’t need to worry about having an “ugly” laugh. There’s no such thing.
If you’re worried about laughing and often worried what people will think of you, it’s hard to really have fun. If you’re with the kind of people who make fun of someone for laughing, find new friends.
Take your time. Even a busy person should learn to spare time for himself and spend time just staying alone. Doing these will help you relax and keep you calm and ready to laugh.
Make sure you do something you enjoy each day. Relax by playing a record and smiling to yourself, having your favorite drink. Keep control of your mood.
Try to add 15 minutes to your day where you can do something like watch a comedy TV play or look at humorous photos online. Try to put this in your timetable right after the most stressful part of your day if you can.

Even though my job is the lowest, it makes me feel excited. I see it as a challenge(挑战) because it is my first job. I learn to be on time and try to do everything well. In return, I get respect(尊敬) from doctors, nurses and patients. Each morning I imagine that the dirty dishes will make patients sicker if I am not there to wash them clean. After breakfast, I start sweeping the floors of all patient rooms and cleaning toilets. Though I am tired, I want to do the job well. People say, "That young boy really does a good job." That gives me a pride.
Working in the hospital teaches me that being proud of one's job is important. It does not matter whether the job is sweeping floors or managing a large business. Shen Ying is 17 years old. She feels she has grown up now. So she wants more respect (尊重) from her parents. “My father shouted at me when he’s in a bad mood. He doesn’t listen to me, but instead acts like, ‘I’m the boss’!” said the teenager “I’d like my parents to treat me like a friend and understand that respect is a two-way street.”
Lu Yiting is 15. She has a different problem with her parents. They think she spends too much time with her friends and is falling into bad company. “I want trust from my parents,” Lu said.
It’s the age when teenagers are becoming more independent, but their parents care very much about their kids’ futures, said Sun Yunxiao, a senior researcher at the China Youth and Children Research Center. Sun suggests that teenagers should learn to communicate with their parents. “Find the right time for a talk. On Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, say ‘Thank you’ to your parents or give them a small gift with a letter so they can get inside your head a little,” he advised. Sun also believes that teenagers have to work to get trust and respect from their parents. “You need to make sure they know that you’re not going to screw up (搞砸) your exams or let them down. Whether at a cinema or a huge theater, someone usually decides to treat the place like their own home! There is an accepted way of behaving at the cinema which some people don’t seem to understand.
To start with, some people always turn up late, causing you to rise from your seat to allow them to go past. Then, when you want to enjoy the surround-sound effects, someone begins to enjoy their drinks and popcorn and thus makes a lot of noises. And what I can’t stand most is people who decide to chat to their friends, sometimes not even about the film.
I’m not alone in this situation. Simon Mayo, a film critic (评论家) at the BBC, experienced a “new low” during a film. He says, “The woman in front of me got a mirror out, then her boyfriend got a phone out and used the light on it to allow her to do her make-up!”
Simon has helped to create a list of rules on how moviegoers should behave at the cinema. One of them is no use of mobile phones, and another is not to take your shoes off—a most serious offence (冒犯).
Of course, when we have paid for a ticket, we feel it is our right to relax and enjoy the film in the way we want to, but we mustn’t forget our fellow moviegoers who want to enjoy the cinematic experience, too.
The best choice for anyone wanting to break the rules of cinema manners is to get a DVD and watch it at home. But we all know that the best way to enjoy the art of cinematography is on the big screen. It’s your choice!
What about you? What annoys you about other people at the cinema?

Life is a long journey. Sometimes you’re up, sometimes you’re down. But it’s the difficult times when we need a little more support and guidance.
I believe how you respond (回应) in your moments of failure tells what kind of person you are. Here’s how to make getting through hard times less difficult:
1. Stay Positive (积极的)
Now I know this may sound cliche (老生常谈), but the thing about cliches is that they’re typically true.
I’m not saying that you can never have a bad day, or get a little discouraged. But I am saying you have to finally pick up the pieces and start moving forward.
2. _________
When I find myself in the middle of an ugly situation, I like to see what went wrong and what I could have done differently.
I always end up learning something that helps me and I finally get a really clear picture of what I need to do to make sure I’m not in the same situation again.
3. Focus on What You Can Control, Not What You Can’t
Some situations are beyond your control and no matter what you do, you can’t change a thing.
You’re setting yourself up for failure when you focus your time and energy on things you can’t control. You’re also making the situation seem even more bleak (无望的) than it actually is because you’re focusing on the bad things.
You should instead focus on the things that are within your control because that’s the only way you can make a change that’s actually going to help you.
4. Realize You’ve Come a Long Way
Sometimes we get so focused on the road ahead that we never look back to see what we’ve already traveled. You’ll be more confident when you realize that you’ve made so much progress and the light at the end of the tunnel will get brighter.
5. Be Kind to Yourself
You need to care for yourself to make it through hard times. Take a walk through the park, lift some weights, or read an amazing book.
It doesn’t matter what you do, just do something that gets your mind and body busy at a higher level than wallowing (沉迷) in self-pity.
1. According to the passage, which statement is true?A.In order to stay positive, you should avoid having a bad day. |
B.We should focus more on the road ahead and make it better. |
