Note-taking is a skill(技能) that can help you do well in all your schoolwork. It can make you confident when you are studying. But unluckily, most students don't know how to take notes. Here is some advice:
*Write down key facts. If your teacher writes notes on the blackboard, that's great. You can copy(记下) them or write down the most important facts of all in class. Different teachers do things differently. For example, some teachers may focus on (关注) lots of dates and facts in class, but they only write the important ones on the blackboard. Other teachers may not write anything down, but they may say something important again and again.
*Ask. Don't be afraid to ask your teacher to repeat(重复) what you miss. If your teacher speaks too fast and you can’t follow what he/she is saying, you can ask him/her after class.
*Compare. Comparing your notes with your classmates' can be good for your learning. It can also help you and your classmates correct some mistakes.
*Organise(组织). Note-taking also needs organization. Keep notes for each subject in one notebook, so that you can find everything easily when a test comes.
*Good note-taking takes time. If you decide to recopy(重新抄写) your notes every evening, you'll surely have less time to watch TV. But you'll save time in the coming test.

All for masks
During the outbreak, medical supplies (供应) such as masks are needed by many. To increase (增加) production, over 3,000 Chinese companies have changed their production lines (生产线) to make medical equipment. For example, a company that used to make clothes spent 55 hours changing their production lines and is now able to make 1,200 protective medical suits (医疗防护服) every day. Several automakers (汽车制造商) in China have also turned their production lines into mask-making lines. Guangzhou Automobile is now able to make 1 million masks per day.
Sharing employees
The idea of“sharing workers (共享员工)”has become popular during the outbreak. As most people are staying at home, many workers in restaurants, cinemas and shopping malls have no work and are not getting paid. Meanwhile, online orders of groceries (食品杂货) and medical supplies grow, leaving e-business platforms (平台) such as JD.com and Freshhema shorthanded (人手短缺). As a result, many unemployed people have started to look for part-time jobs. As of Feb 10, over 1,800 workers had started their new short-term jobs as delivery (送货) workers with Freshhema, Xinhua reported. The local government of the Shanghai Pudong New District even set up a platform for workers and companies to find each other.
Amazing speed
In cities like Wuhan that have large numbers of infected (被感染的) people, more hospital beds are needed. The quickest way to solve this problem is to build makeshift (临时的) hospitals.
On Jan 23 and 25, respectively (分别地), the government decided to build Huoshenshan Hospital and Leishenshan Hospital in Wuhan. More than 4,000 workers worked 24/7 in two shifts (轮班), and nearly 1,000 pieces of large equipment and transport vehicles (运输车辆) helped them build the hospitals.
Within less than 15 days, the two hospitals were finished. They provide about 2,600 beds. The amazing speed impressed many people around the world.
“China has a record of getting things done fast even for monumental projects (大型项目) like this,” said Yanzhong Huang, a senior fellow for global health at the Council on Foreign Relations.
“This is very hard for Westerners to imagine,” Huang added.

Some people feel lonely because they may not have enough time to make friends. Not only the quiet, shy people may feel lonely. Some people are active and outgoing, but they are sometimes afraid to talk and make friends with others. They always try to hold other people away from them. They may seem to have lots of friends, but inside they are hurting.
Are you lonely? If your answer is “yes”, you may need to work hard enough! Here are some tips to think about:
To be wanted and needed is a big answer to loneliness. Is there any way you can help other people? Try to do something helpful for others even if you are very busy. By helping other people, we find friends and lose loneliness.
Do you have an interest or hobby? Find a group of people with this interest and join them.
Live in the real world! The world on the Internet is not a real world and it is very different from the real life. The students asleep in class are mostly those who often surf the net through the night. As a result, they’ll get lost in the real world.
Don’t wait for someone to phone, or write, or email you, you call them. And if they seem too busy, it doesn’t mean you are not welcome. Try another time!

Sometimes they can only see their children through the eyes of a protector (保护者). For example, a teacher might see a trip to a big city as a valuable experience. However, it might seem too dangerous to a parent.
Another problem is that parents may expect their children’s interests to be similar to their own. If they love science, they may try to force (强迫) their child to love science too. But what will happen if their child’s true love is art, or writing, or car repair?
Parents usually want to pass on their values to their children. But should children always believe what their parents do? When children are young, they believe that their parents are always right. But when they get older, they will have different ways of thinking.
The most important thing to realize is that we all have many teachers in our lives. Our parents teach us, our teachers teach us, and our friends teach us. Books and newspapers and televisions also teach us. All of them are valuable.

Luckily, about a week later, Feng was sent to a makeshift hospital (方舱医院) for treatment.
“Without such makeshift hospitals, many COVID-19 patients like me may never have found a bed,” Feng told China Daily. He has recovered and been away from Wuchang makeshift hospital which is for treating COVID-19 patients.

Two months ago, Shaxian Snacks opened its first store in the United States. The store is in New York City. It was so popular that all of its food was sold out within three hours on the first day when it was open.

Why is the Amazon rainforest “sick”?
The Amazon rainforest is one of the world’s wettest places. Since 2005, three droughts have hit the rainforest. They were caused by climate change. The trees don’t have enough water to grow. What’s worse, as they become dry, they can easily catch fire!
On top of this, people cut down rainforest trees for wood. They burn the forest to make farmland. They clear trees to find minerals. All these activities have caused about 17% of the rain forest to disappear.
What will happen if we lose it?
The Amazon rainforest is like the lungs of our planet. The rich planet take CO₂ out of the air and make O₂. They make about 20% of the planet’s O₂. If the Amazon forest “dies”, there will be more CO₂ and our earth will become even hotter.
The Amazon rainforest is also home to over 3 million animals and plants. Many of them can’t live anywhere else. Perhaps they would disappear.

B.Rainforests can speed up climate change. |

②They cause climate change.
③They make grass in the forest grow faster.
④They make it easier for the forest to catch fire.
