Hi, Grandma! Here I’m in Paris. Jenny and I arrived by plane the day before yesterday. Aunt Joan and Uncle Peter met us at the airport. We were tired, so we relaxed at home and began our tour of the city yesterday.

Yesterday we went to the Louvre Museum. It has many world-famous works of art, such as the Mona Lisa. In the evening we had dinner in a French restaurant. The food was delicious.

This morning we took a walk. There are shops and restaurants everywhere, and I love the streets and markets. They sell such good fruit and vegetables. We also did some shopping. I bought a present for you. I hope you’ll like it!

At about three o’clock, we took the Paris Underground to the Eiffel Tower. It is really high. There were lots of tourists, so first of all, we had to wait in line for an hour, and then we went to the top. We waited till all the lights were on. It was wonderful!

Tomorrow we’re going to visit a famous palace and take a boat tour on the River Seine. I’ll write again.

Several months later, I noticed her window was very dirty. Everything was not clear through the window. I wondered why the woman didn’t wash her window.

One sunny morning, I decided to clean up my apartment, including washing my windows. Late in the afternoon when I finished the cleaning, I sat down for a rest by the window. What a surprise! The woman sitting by her window was clearly seen! Her window was clean! Suddenly, I realized I had made a mistake. I was watching her through my dirty window all the time!

That was quite an important lesson for me. Since then, whenever I wanted to judge(判断) someone, I asked myself first, “ Am I looking at him through the dirty window of my heart?” Then I try to clean the window of my own world so that I may see the world clearly.

【推荐3】A few years ago I went through a period of such depression (抑郁症) that life didn’t seem worth living. It was like winter, so cold that the sun would never shine.

Then I saw snowdrops (雪花莲) pushing through the freezing, hard ground. I looked at them every day until I felt that if they could come back to life, then so could I. Those green shoots gave me hope in a way that nothing else did.

As spring came, I started to put in more and more plants until the garden was filled with color. Life was growing through my hands; gentle, peaceful, but, above all. Optimistic. If I gave love, it was returned much more.

I could spend hours lost in gardening. The depression I have is passed from my mother. It has affected generation (代) of my family and may happen in any situation. I can be depressed when the sun is shining or I am with a group of loving friends.

At the end of the9 first garden I made stood a huge tree. It stood up to freezing temperatures and strong winds. It bent(弯曲) but never broke. The leaves dropped until it was covered with nothing, but it always, always came back to life. And so I learned that we may fall down, but hope is living thing.
