The desks and chairs are yellow. It is my favourite colour. Look! This is my desk. My books and a pencil box are on it. There is a white teacher’s desk in the front of the classroom and there’s a computer on it. There’s a black bag on it too. The bag is our science teacher’s. Ms Green is our English teacher.

The Mid-Autumn Festival has a history of more than 2,000 years. During these 2,000 years, lots of Mid-Autumn traditions have been thought up by Chinese people. All the celebrations show the happiness and excitement of people. The main celebrations during the Mid-Autumn Festival are enjoying the full moon, eating moon cakes together and making lanterns. These three celebrations have been passed from generation(一代) to generation. Chinese people may think the Mid-Autumn Festival is not coming if they don’t do these three things.

In some places in China, people celebrate the festival in different ways. In Chaozhou, Guangdong Province, people eat taros(芋头) to celebrate the festival, because the taro harvest occurs at the same time as the festival. They eat taros and hope the harvest is good next year. In Nanjing, people cook duck with sweet-scented osmanthus(桂花), because they think sweet-scented osmanthus is a symbol of peace. In some places, people make fires inside towers to celebrate the festival, because they think the fire is a symbol of good business(生意).

In the literary history of China, many poets(诗人) wrote poems to praise(赞美) the pure moon of Mid-Autumn night and express their feelings. The following is one of the best poems.

My favourite Chinese traditional festival

My name is Xue Ba. It’s my honor to share some of my experience with you. I think I have always dealt with my junior life well. Not only can I get good grades, but also I can live a full and meaningful life. Some of my experience is as follows.

Have a clear life goal. I have always wanted to enter Tsinghua University and get an excellent education, so I know I should take every single day seriously. That’s why I can keep working hard without getting tired.

Have a good time management. For each person, we have 24 hours every day. What makes a difference is the way we use it. I always value my time and make good use of every minute. As a matter of fact, I often do my homework between classes and almost all the homework can be done before evening comes. As for the time I save up, I spend it doing some extra (额外的) exercises or reading some good books my Chinese teacher recommends (推荐). Actually, I am the best at writing in my class. I think reading helps a lot.

Do sports. I spend about 20 minutes doing sports every day. I think it is very important for us. I can build up my body by doing that. I am now the tallest and strongest boy in my class. What’s more, I always become full of energy after doing sports.

Develop at least one healthy habit. I can play several musical instruments such as the violin, erhu and the piano, but my favorite is drums. Whenever I feel stressed out, I will play the drums and that always helps me cheer up once more. I strongly suggest everyone develop a healthy habit to help you deal with stress when necessary.

An Unforgettable Experience During the COVID-19 Pandemic

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I had to stay at home.

Beijing is the capital of China. Not only Chinese People but also lots of foreigners（外国人）come to visit it every day, because there are so many places of interest in Beijing.

Here’s a map of Beijing. And here is Tian’anmen Square. The Great Hall of the People is on its left, and on the right is the National Museum of China. If you want to visit the Forbidden City, just go straight ahead, and it’s opposite Tian’anmen Square. Have you ever been to the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall? It’s between the Great Hall of the People and the Museum.

Do you like parks? Maybe Beihai Park will be your favourite. It’s quiet and beautiful. You can take the No.2 bus to get there.

Most people like shopping, especially women. In Beijing the best place to go shopping is Wangfujing Dajie. Go across the square, take the first turning on the right, and go along Dong Chang’an Jie. Then turn left and you can get to Wangfujing Dajie. I’m sure you will enjoy yourself there.

HI! My name is Rajasthan. I am named after a state in India. India is a large country in South Asia. It has the second largest population(人口) in the world. People in India mainly speak 22 different languages. The main language in our country is Hindi(印地语).

Do you know Indian food? Indian people think if it’s spicy, it’s good. My favorite food is lamb(羊羔肉) with bread and spice. I think it is the most delicious food in the world.

Only about one-third of the people in India know how to read and write. Some parents only send their sons to school. I am very lucky because I know how to read and write.

The Indian elephants are very famous around the world. They eat many kinds of fruits, like bananas. The elephants eat between 330 and 375 pounds of food and drink lots of water each day, so they have to travel to new places to get new food and water. An elephant mother always takes good care of her baby. When she is away, other elephants will look after her baby.
