Many cars in advertisements are red, blue or green —but almost 75 percent of new cars sold are black, white, silver or grey.

It can be hard for many people to stop using TikTok, a video App. Many TikTok users spend much time watching the App’s short videos. Before they know it, hours have passed! TikTok wants to help users get control of their screen time. It’s adding new features to remind people to take breaks.
TikTok already has some features to help. One of those features lets users set a limit for their screen time each day. Now, this control is going one step further. TikTok users will be able to set how long they can watch at one time. Once they hit that time, they’ll get a reminder from TikTok—it’s time to take a break!
Cutting down on screen time can help in lots of ways. Experts say less screen time leads to less stress and better sleep. Keeping away from the screen also lets you enjoy real life. People can exercise and spend more time with friends and family.
To get control of your screen time, you need to know how much time you’re spending looking at the screen. Another new feature of TikTok’s helps with that. It’s a screen time page, which tells users how much time they spend on TikTok each day and each week.
“Having a good relationship with digital devices (数字设备) isn’t just about screen time,” said Jordan Furlong, a TikTok leader. “It also makes us feel in control of how we use technology.”

The Dolphin 1 is a kind of intelligent water rescue (救援) robot. It is independently developed by Yunzhou Technology, a company from Guangdong Province.
The rescue robot became famous for its successful rescue of a boy who was washed away by waves in Weihai, Shandong Province on Aug 9, 2022. The Dolphin 1 has many advantages. For example, it has high floatage (漂浮性), and its direction can be controlled. The Dolphin 1 can overturn (翻转) to adjust its position even in dangerous water conditions by itself. It is not hard to be remote-controlled (遥控) with one hand and the person who uses it does not need to have professional training before using it. When one accident happens, only one to two people are required to operate (操作) the robot for rapid rescue.
Since it was put into use, the Dolphin 1 has saved several people’s lives in Zhuhai’s Wanshan Island and coastal areas of Weihai. It has been put into operation in rescue tasks in Jiangxi and Henan provinces.

A report showed that in 2021, China had a total of 9 million leftover children in the countryside. Usually, the children’s grandparents or their parent’s friends or relatives look after them. Sometimes these children are brought up by one of their parents at home. Most of their guardians(监护人) are not quite educated. To them, making sure that the children are healthy and fed well is the most important task. If the children are safe and fit, they are considered to have done a good job. Guardians seldom care about children’s study, their psychological needs, or mental demands(需要). Neither do they spend some time to teach kids how to develop good habits. In fact, these leftover children need more care.
The survey below is from some villages in Central China. Three hundred children were chosen to answer the questions. Among the six questions, communicating is the biggest problem. With the founding(成立)of the People’s Republic of China, military rucksacks(军用帆布包)became popular. Many people carried them when they were in school. Ask your grandparents or parents about these bags. Maybe they can tell you about their experiences of carrying them when they were in school.
A new style of schoolbags has appeared in recent years. Many of them have colorful and fashionable designs(时尚的设计)on them, such as pictures of cartoons or pop stars. And they are more comfortable to use. Some students pull wheeled bags filled with heavy textbooks and others carry backpacks.

According to a recent article in The Wall Street Journal(华尔街日报), over the past few years, new research has given us a much deeper understanding of the relationship between what we earn and how we feel. The research may show us the result: Yes, people who earn more money, generally speaking, are happier than those who earn little. But the research also shows that you have to spend your money properly if you expect it to bring you happiness. Here are some suggestions for you to spend your money in a better way:
Buy experiences, not material goods.
In a recent study, Ryan Howell, a professor from San Francisco State University in the US, found that when people didn’t have enough money to enjoy a trip, they preferred to buy some material goods. But travelling with your family or friends may bring you more happiness and the wonderful memory of the travel experience will stay in your mind for many years.
Buy lots of little things, rather than one big thing.
No matter how much money you spend on something and how special that product is, you will get used to having it over time and it will become just another object. People like having new things, but the happiness it brings to you will soon disappear. Buying small things can give us small pleasures often and you can get different surprises and happiness from different small things.
Be sure to buy time, too.
It’s also important to consider how the things you buy will affect how you spend your time. For example, buying that big house in the countryside may seem to be a good idea, but according to The Wall Street Journal, people who spend more time on the way to work are not so happy as those who live near the workplace.
Try giving it away.
Elizabeth Dunn, a professor of a University in Canada, found that in countries such as Canada, South Africa and Uganda, giving away money to the poor made people happier. This was even true when people were giving away even when they themselves were really poor.
