文章大意:本文是一篇说明文。文章阐述了大多数人们在午饭后困倦的原因,并指出午睡对我们的健康很重要,以及一些午睡的提示。

2 . Are you sometimes a little tired and sleepy in the early afternoon? Many people feel this way after lunch. They may think that eating lunch is the cause of the sleepiness. Or, in summer, they may think it is the heat. However, the real reason lies inside their bodies. At that time, about eight hours after you wake up, your body temperature goes down. This is what makes you slow down and feel sleepy.

Scientists have tested sleep habits in experiments where there was no night or dry. The people in these experiments almost always followed a similar sleeping pattern. They slept for one long period and then for one short period about eight hours later.

In many parts of the world, people take naps in the middle of the day. This is especially true in warmer weather, in which the heat makes work difficult in the early afternoon. Researchers are now saying that naps are good for everyone in any weather. A daily nap gives one a more rested body and mind, which is good for health in general. In countries where naps are traditional, people don’t often have problems such as heart disease.

Many working people, unluckily, have no time to take naps. Though doctors may advice taking naps, employers(老板)do not allow it! If you do have the chance, however, here are a few tips about making the most of your nap. Remember that the best time to take a nap is about eight hours after you get up. A short sleep too late in the day may only make you feel more tired and sleepy afterwards. If you do not have enough time, try a short nap—even ten minutes of sleep can be helpful.

D.You can sleep as long as you like so that you won’t feel tired or sleepy.

文章大意:本文主要围绕“运动”展开了论述。

9 . When we hear the word “sport”, we usually think of football, basketball, the Olympic Games, and things like that. But isn’t a sport more than that? Different people have different answers.

Many people think that a sport must be hard for your body. But what about if you only need to think? Look at chess. There are chess competitions and chess stars. So is chess a sport? And do you need to be strong and fit to take part in a sport? What about Olympic shooting? You don’t have to be strong to do that.

One thing all sports need is skill. A skill is something special you can do better than others. It’s often a thing you learn, but some people have natural skills. Most people can learn to play football. But to be a really good football player, you need to be naturally quick and move well.

A.People have to be strong to do them.B.They are less interesting than hobbies.
C.They are things people need to learn.D.Most of them have their own rules.
